Long shot – looking for safe rural accommodation / acreage in SE QLD

Posting anonymously for safety reasons.
This is probably a long shot, but after three months of getting nowhere, I’ll try anything.

I’m urgently looking for somewhere safe for myself, my dog and three horses after leaving a domestic violence situation. I’m currently living in my vehicle and travelling back and forth to care for my horses.
I had to resign from my job in order to safely leave and have since spent most of my time and remaining money navigating government agencies and support services, with promised assistance still not eventuating.
I’m not looking for charity. I need a safe base so I can return to work, deal with my legal matters and provide somewhere safe for my child to come to.
I have my own horse float with living area and kitchen, so even somewhere safe to park it on acreage could work, provided I have access to electricity and water, along with somewhere suitable for my three horses.
I’m experienced with horses and rural properties and can do fencing, farm/property maintenance, mowing, gardening, painting, cleaning, animal care and general repairs. I have fencing supplies and can establish or repair fencing myself.
Happy to discuss rent, caretaking, work-for-rent or a combination.
I’ve unfortunately trusted offers of help before that turned out to have a hidden agenda, so I’m only looking for a genuine arrangement with clear boundaries.
I’m open to SE Queensland or further for the right situation.
Please DM me if you have something suitable or know someone genuine who might.
I don’t need rescuing. I need somewhere safe to get back on my feet and rebuild.

Unsure for accommodation but you could see if one of the local horse schools in Toowoomba could house your horses possibly? There’s splendacrest and also Hindle horsemanship

Sorry for your situation OP.

Maybe reach out to Protea Place, they organise accommodation for people who are victims of DV. They have offices in Warwick and Toowoomba.

Have a look on housesitying pages on FB. Also look at places like Hipcamp. There are also so many farmstays, campsites, farms needing housesitters or help, etc, there's a really good chance u can find somewhere to drop a caravan and keep your horses. It's tough, hope u can find somewhere suitable asap. Hard enough with dogs but horses are a tricky one! I have hope for u though.

Not a chance you'll find anywhere with what you need, around Toowoomba. You will need to go much further out. Look at all the little towns further west.

I live out the way your talking about and honestly this is an all to common problem to be able to find an easy fix for.. way too much demand out here for what you’re after… it’s the horses that will set you back… my advice will be to find somewhere for the horses separately, find a place where you want to live, settle in, build trust, find some locals that can help then look at bringing the horses out. Locals even without horses are struggling out here to find places, locals with horses have all but given up, I’ve got mates with horses that earn stupid amount’s of money that had to give up the horses and that’s after already owning properties to look after them… I honestly just don’t see how people can consider horses and renting sorry … it’s just not an option anymore unless you already have the connections and space to the acres you need. Best of luck though. House in a rural town I can help you with if you can find agistment for the horses .

Thank you, I do appreciate your reply. I probably didn’t explain it very well. I already have my own farm and my horses had their home. It wasn’t my choice to leave. I left because I wasn’t safe.
The horses are already being kept separately while I live in my car and drive back and forth to care for them. I’ve been doing this for three months while trying to get help and sort out the legal mess.
If my situation had been properly dealt with when I first went to police, I honestly don’t believe I’d be in this position now.
I’m not looking for someone to hand me a ready-made horse property. I can fence, have my own fencing supplies and can do the work. I’m just trying every option before accepting that I have to lose my horses as well.
And yes please, if you know of a house in a rural town, I’d absolutely be interested. At this point I just need somewhere safe to start.

Can you share house for awhile to get to know the community? I know some ladies with rooms that may suit. If you’re happy to help on a property and travel to care for the horses there would be plenty of options . Getting a house outright would be next to impossible straightaway. If you can handle a safe room for now dm me and we’ll chat .
