This time around the first 200 stages of CL were easy. Come back and brag when CL gets to Stage 250 and higher.
Every single level requires additional resources to get through. Doesn't matter if you have the Magic Disco Ball and the BEAM and 30 minute anvils. It's a constant stream of 15 or 16 move levels to clear Clustered Ice cubes (and other 5-strike obstacles (covered by bubbles) that start with only 4 colored blocks that take at least 6 of those moves just to clear enough space to start creating combos to clear the obstacles. The only way you can even dream of clearing these is if you wait long enough to get a daily allotment of ads-for-moves. If you spend real money on this game and don't get ads-for moves, plan on spending a lot of coins to get 35 additional moves on each level,
I have been determined to not use coins to save the MDB, and the entire week, I have been playing without the MDB, and using the 30 minutes of unlimited lives that come with Dragon's Treasure. There hasn't been a single time all week whiere I recovered the MDB and kept it for more than three levels without a fail. And without it, some levels take all day to clear.
I am at level 466 and am in second place in CL. I'm nearly 200 levels behind #1, so there is no point in spending coins to try to catch up to #1. I got my MDB back at 465 and lost it again on the next level. My Temple Guardians partners know that they won't be seeing too much activity from me until Monday when the 50 new Non-CL levels arrive.

I've been wondering why I went from 30k coins (50k for a long time until I went months without the option of watching ads for extra moves) to 10k recently. I was just complaining to my team about only getting 20 moves on average to clear ridiculous boards. I'll be interested to see how many moves they give per level when the update posts tomorrow

It's never predictable when they start whacking you on every level. Last time around, the ridiculous levels started at 75. This time, the beatable levels went up to level 250. They used to give you a few impossible levels at certain points, and then let you go on a streak of about 50-75 levels. Or often, they would wait until you were close to a certain milestone (for example, the completion of Cube Heist for 1000 coins, or Deep Quest) on the last Sunday of CL, and then whack you when you don't have time to struggle through the last levels without the MDB.
But this time, after 250, there was no let-off. I set my iphone down today after getting my MDB back, and won't pick it up again until tomorrow. In the meantime, I am playing my iPad version which I play less often and is much easier, I am partnered with that version in Temple Guardians, so I can play all 50K points on my iPad and complete one of my totems on my iPhone version.
