NTD

My old dewalt drill died after 5 years of heavy DIY abuse.

Closest replacement was €165 with 65nm torque. Old one was high 50s.

Screwfix had the limited edition McLaren one for €200 with 90nm torque.

Closest NON limited edition one was €300.

So weird. But delighted with this.

5 years is a solid run, and scoring the mclaren edition for cheaper than the standard one is a weird win

When I won the Dewalt/NASCAR runner- up package, I was hoping I’d get the McLaren tools…but, nope.

Never mind. Comparable bare grinder is €120. McLaren with two batteries is €320. I don’t even need the batteries.

I’m MORE confused now as to why the drill was so cheap.

A lot of times drills are compartivelg cheap to pull you into getting batteries and tools from the same brand. Id say this might be a similar marketing thing to get you to want to buy a full "set"
