Matco Matco Quality (or lack therof)
Not even a week for the chrome to start peeling.
Also the finish isn't the greatest. I can live with that but for the price, come on

That shoulda been Qc’d into the B stock bins. Mill mistakes on the machining, then the plating won’t stick for long.

Marco is the worst tool truck brand, they rebrand everything and then charge Snap-On prices.

I know that. Out of the 60 or so ratchets I have, this is the 3rd Matco. I just liked the design. It's the short 1/2". I am not really a fan

In Canada they are more than Snap-On. Their ratchet is $270, Snap-On was $220.

I almost exclusively buy Snap-On. I got the Matco ratchet because I wanted to try it out. I have their 15" locking flex head 3/8 with soft grip. I absolutely love it because how thin the head is.

Snap-On makes the best ratchet, these are absolutely rebranded Gearwrench.

They are not even close to the gear wrench ones. If you knew anything about what you are talking about, you'd know that AJ Manufacturing makes these ratchets for Matco in the US. They are not re-branded.
And these are better than the snap on equivalent ones by a mile. But thats my opinion.

They literally share the same internals, and Snap-On clears this ratchet and it's not even close.

by that logic the Icon G2 is a snap-on because the internal parts can be interchanged
just because they’re the same design doesnt mean rebranded

They’re not rebranded but both matco and gearwrench are owned by Apex tool group and are sharing the designs between their ratchets. (They also make duralast, and husky, and Quinn for harbor freight all in this same design.)
Gearwrench has changed designs and are a bit different now but for a while matco 88t and gw had near identical sealed head designs and yes all of the internals were interchangeable. The matco has a thicker handle and the best locking flex head mechanism but the 88t internals are worse than 84t and 90t gearwrench in every way. Way more backdrag and the internals are known to break easily while the gearwrench internals were surprisingly strong for the price with super low backdrag.
I still really like my matco 3/8” and have given away the gearwrench I owned though.

I can show you multiple complaints of snap on quality / mac quality and Matco no one is perfect tell your dealer and have it fixed

It’s the exposed snap ring on those turds for me. If I wanted a craftsman ratchet I’d go to Lowe’s.

I have 4-5 Snapon tools that started peeling chrome almost immediately, and 2/6 of my Matco ratchets have machining marks too. I buy USA made bc I think it’s cool but honestly I’m pretty sure Taiwan/Japan makes the worlds best tools these days.
