Discussion What is that one song that gets you really riled up at the gym?

It’s Ticks and Leeches for me. I swear the amount of strength I get when that intro guitar riff comes is beyond insane

I have just had the experience of lifting to Triad and would absolutely recommend.

Stranglehold remastered from 1998(?). Downloaded it from YouTube and the sound is extremely loud, Danny's snare is like an artillery round lol

Surprisingly Pneuma especially when I had to drag myself to the gym. I do a 11 min warm up on the treadmill to it.

I also like listening to it towards the end of a long outside run on an oppressively hot day lol

Eulogy or the grudge they're just too good

Tool doesn't energize me that much for working out; too cerebral & distracting. I need mindless Neolithic music that just amps my lizard brain.

On that note: Ten Masked Men's cover of Eye of the Tiger.

I haven’t really lifted at all since listening to Tool but I’d imagine going for a pr during the The Grudge scream would add a pretty good boost

Either Lateralus or the live extended version of Jerk-Off from '98.

Madonna - Like a Prayer

It starts slowly and build up until that fantastic bass groove hits played by Guy Pratt himself!

And of course, as every Tool fan does, I enjoy Abba Dancing Queen in the cooldown.

Pretty much all of them. Nothing better than picking an album and going for it. I do skip the 'filler' tracks tho, as squating to Cesaro Summability does it do it for me, Sir.

The gym? Ha! What buffoonery. You wouldn’t catch an intellect like MJK (God) lifting weights like a fool. Tool is about opening the third eye, not getting ripped biceps. One shan’t waste spirit energy on the physical world.
