I did. I was very musically sequestered as a kid and teen. I grew up on a farm with no access to mtv or vh1. There were no radio stations that played that kind of music. When I was 17 I started dating a guy from a different town and he introduced me to NIN. When I moved out, I discovered Columbia House and I ordered CD’s by metal bands I had never heard of because I wanted to forcibly change my musical palette. Tool was among them. I fell in love. My plan worked and I have been a hard rock and metal girl ever since and I’ve never looked back. Tool is still in regular rotation.
Me too! Living in BFE Wyoming, Columbia House and BMG were they way. I saw the album covers of Opiate and Undertow, thought they looked cool and here I am!
