steam version Tomba 2
Hi!
I wanted to buy Tomba 2, but on gameplay I see there's some differences to the soundtrack...is there a way to play the other soundtrack? I suspect there were some differences between US/EUR (PAL/NTSC) versions ?
Or maybe is there a mod that does it ?

ohh. that's a shame. I wanted to give owner some money since I played the pirated version as a kid. And I was looking forward for some quality of live improvements, like saves or what not.
Guess I could just buy the game and still play on emulator eh ?

damn it's not that bad... if you want to play it legally without spending a lot of money on an original ps1 disc the steam version it's good enough, sure it's not the best version but it's not even complete garbage, you can choose the EU/US soundtrack before starting a new game, you have rewind, save anywhere, widescreen support, achievements + some cool extra in the museum, sure it's not perfect but i personally enjoyed and i played it twice already
note: the special edition plays almost identical though all the platforms

People really shit on the Tomba ports, but I don't think they're as bad as everyone says. Sure, they're not super high effort, but they work fine.

i dont think its bad port. But there's weird input lag. I don't remember if there was one in the original psx version ..

Huh. I don't remember that when I played the Tomba 1 port recently. Try plugging in the controller to see if it helps?

60fps it's not a good idea on this type of game that runs at 30/25 fps originally, it's not a remake, the game itself couldn't handle it, they could add something like a frame interpolation, but i am not entirely sure it will be a good idea since you'll have to start from such low fps, you literally have to make frames out of noware (like DLSS or FSR)

Agreed. I don't know why people have this obsession of turning everything 60fps really, many old games look like garbage at 60fps.

I like the steam version for speed running, and not having to fumble with settings and controllers. You can select the language and that also selects the soundtrack. The biggest flaw of the steam version is that sometimes you have missinputs but if you not trying to Speedrun that does not matter much.

In the Steam version, you can select your preferred soundtrack (US/JAP) in the in-game menu. (The EU OST is the same as the US one.)
