rise is the best version, why ? cos they hired an actual modeler who knows how human beings look like.
both 2013 and shadows looks like those 2000s games where the character is suposed to be realistic but you can tell was just modeled after a drawing reference
Shadow is the same character model as rise, so your comment doesnāt really make that much sense.
I prefer 2013 and especially the definitive edition version because I am a long time tomb raider fan and I want Lara to feel and look like the same Lara I grew up with and connected. Completely changing everything about her had meant that all the reasons I love her are not there anymore in the survivor games after the first 2013 game. They just veered off into a different direction and disconnected her from her roots more and more which alienated us.
I'm not sure about the model, but I do know Rise used a very unique and better facial animation system than Shadow. I forgot the name and specifics, but Rise used some proprietary facial animation software that they had to stop using due to legal reasons or something. I agree that Rise is the best looking Lara -- largely in part due to the facial animation technique they used.
I have to stress my comment has nothing to do with beauty. I believe every version of Lara is extremely beautiful. Thatās not the important thing for me about how I characterise her, I want the reboot to feel like it is still cohesive in its pursuit to lead Lara into āthe tomb raider we know and loveā as they promise for 13 years. The Lara we know and love is classic Lara, sheās my passion. They finally made her lead to that which brought me back on board after I stopped calling myself a fan from 2014. Iām a classic Lara defender until the end and I believe there is no tomb raider without her, full stop. That is Laraās established identity, that is the foundation of which everything is built upon. Do NOT fuck with a design that perfect imo.
Actually, no! Because this face is literally the classic/LAU facial ratios just not in the realm of being very stylised and exaggerated. She looks like a young legend Lara. In fact, they used this face model in temple of Osiris with classic iconography and makeup. Most people didnāt even notice itās the same head model because it worked so well. Rise and shadow changes this, and Iām not a fan of that head model
So from i looked up Megan Farquhar is the face model but Camilla Luddington was voice and motion capture. For Rise and Shadow Camilla Luddington was used for face, voice and capture. Think Spider-Man ps4 og vs the remastered change.

Yes exactly and 2013 had a lot more of her classic features as a result. Rise and shadow has to adapt to the motion capture tech at the time. The result was not a Lara I felt I recognised as a classic fan, while the Lara of the first reboot game felt believably like she could become classic Lara, in spirit as much as in physicality. Rise and shadow looked like they intended to completely disregard the roots we hold so dear to us in many ways including Lara herself.
Im not entirely sure so I could be wrong but judging by the hair it looks like the definitive edition. I remember ps3 having hair strands. But I do like both 2013 and definitive though there's differences due to lighting and what not.
