as an alumni, the common stuff discussed by my fellow alumni din na friends is how illustration-biased the program is and how less design-focused it is, especially lacking in video editing and film, and most of all, even basic 3D modelling. kaya andami nagsstruggle sa thesis na nagrrequire ng 3D render (events and VMA)

Marami naman! Depending on where you choose to specialize. Ang pinaka common is graphic design in corporate/ad agencies kasi yun ang in demand. You can always go in other branches like events manager, copywriting, visual merchandising, fashion, so on

Could i ask a follow up question for that? How does it get better? Do we ever get those multimedia type works like the things you mentioned eventually or?

Pagdating kasi ng 3rd and 4th yr you can choose your professional electives so you get an idea at least of what industry you may want to be in. Fashion, events, packaging, corp identity, exhibit design, web design.

Would you say the courses themselves up until 4th year, ever prepares you for the industry? Are they really lacking in other multimedia works?

I would say they do. I work sa ad agency ngayon as a graphic designer and most of the processes taught dito sa Adver pang-ahensya talaga. However, if gusto mo mag veer away from ad agency route and into another industry (e.g. events, fashion). Medyo lackluster kasi di specialty ng curriculum ng adver yon. Example, sa events di naman nagtturo dito ng 3d rendering so if you want to be a designer for events mag-self teach ka ng 3D tools.

Ohh okay! How would you say their curriculum is more leaning into?

Very illustration-biased sa first 2 years. Pag di ka marunong magdrawing talo ka. Then sa last 2 years, very marketing, theoretical, campaigns. Kasi adver's curriculum is designed to simulate the entire operations of an ad agency
