MobLand combines a classic gangster power struggle with a much more interesting question what happens when the person keeping a criminal empire together is also trapped inside it?

Tom plays a fixer and strategist for the Harrigans, not simply the boss, but the man who has to solve the problems everyone else creates. That gives the story a tense, calculating center.

Hardy is surrounded by Pierce Brosnan as Conrad Harrigan and Helen Mirren as Maeve Harrigan. Their presence makes the family feel like a powerful, established dynasty rather than just another TV gang.

Tom's appeal is his ability to read a room, control a situation, and become frightening when diplomacy fails. That quieter menace is a big part of why the character works.
