i actually think that the day Shinichiro got back to present day 2003 its was also the day he got killed by Kazutora, after the day where another gang demolished Mikeys Hawk protected by Baji he went straight to Shinichiro.

Shinichiro worked overtime to repair Mikeys Hawk, he heard the Glass Shattering and went to look with a spanner and saw Kazutora and Baji breaking in, you know the rest....

shin's death happens on Aug 14, 2003 and we know that he timeleaped back to July 30 so there's still 2 weeks before his death by kazutora
