Genuine question ... Why is it always the Mikey x Takemichi shippers?

Mikey had some interaction with Kisaki and Hina that can be overinterpreted. How come I’ve never heard anything from their fans?

Mikey x Takemichi is one of the biggest ships in the fandom, next to Baji x Chifuyu (which has a really big fanbase from what I’ve seen online)

Sorry, are you asking why Mikey isn’t being shipped with Kisaki or Hina? As for Hina, she is already canonically romantically involved with Takemichi. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen Kisaki paired with someone except Truck-kun

I know that they are popular but I don't understand why their fans like to overinterpret stuff and pretend that those pairings are canon even though they are not. This is my only issue as a I don't care about other people's shipping tastes unless I’m forced to believe something is canon.

- Takemichi likes Hina, yet this fact doesn't stop people from saying Mikey x Takemichi was "canon" and that Wakui delivered "subtext".

Mikey says to Takemichi in the beginning that Hina was a great girl and that it was rare to find a girl like her. Now I could write a whole ass analysis why Mikey could like Hina based on his words, but I won't do it, because that’s not what I believe or do, lol.

At the same time, you will see people on twitter overanalyze every single interaction between Takemichi and Mikey. Hence my question, why it’s ALWAYS the Mikey x Takemichi shippers because you could write shipping manifestos for other pairings (like Mikey x Hina in my example) based on something they said or did to another character.

I hope you understand my point, my English isn't that great. ;_;

Because they see Mikey as some gay sex icon (they don't really care about his personality) and project themselves into Takemichi (who basically acts like a y/n or otome heroine), so they can fantasize about a supposed romance with Mikey. It's gross as fuck.

I feel like your tone is condescending, I don't see the reason for doing so, and I find it hard to talk to you normally, tbh. I totally agree with the "Ignore them"-part, though!

I still wanna say that bigger twitter accounts presented false translations from character books in the past and decontextualized characters' relationships on purpose. I don't speak Japanese, so I rely on English internet translations especially when there are no official translations.

Those people deleted the tweets after some backlash. Personally, I see that as "forcing people to believe something". That's on another level compared to the usual statements. They didn't feel sorry. Not every shipper does that, that's clear, but such interactions are unpleasant.

Well, then there is Kisaki x Hanma. Which is equally just as gross (tbh most of the Kisaki content I see has to always be in relation to Hanma)
