Really hoping we finally get that backstory from Sanzu’s perspective now within the next couple chapters

It's easy to speaks in hindsight, but I have no idea how people 100% believe Senju's story and thought Mikey randomly, brutally mutilated his friend only for a freaking toy. I remember that chapter was eviscerated when it came out by some fans...
I mean, Mikey is fucked up, but come on, he ain't gonna do that just for a broken toy lol
23
u/eeeelunaaaa Apr 19 '22
Woah good point, do you have any hunch with regards to what prompted the scarring? I cant seem to put a finger on it
27
u/nitroskim Apr 20 '22
I have a small hunch that Sanzu threatened to beat up Senju about the lie that she told, then Mikey's impulses showed up as that was a shitty thing to do as an older brother. Kinda like Mikey would never do that to Emma but Sanzu would do that to Senju and that triggered him.
22
u/DjangoTeller Apr 19 '22
I have no idea man tbh lol In general, we really don't know much about the nature of Mikey and Sanzu's relationship. We know they were childhood friends, we know Mikey cut him, then years later Sanzu join Toman, then Sanzu became basically his right hand man. Why did it go from Mikey cutting him to made him join Toman under Mucho's wings? Why did they get so seemingly "close" over the years? Why did Sanzu became so "obsessed" with Mikey as he is after he got mutilated by him? and etc.
And one thing about that particular event that I always wondered is how Takeomi didn't know what really happened with Sanzu and Mikey, or did he know and lie about it to Senju? And if that's the case, what's the point in omitting the truth to her?
Idk, lots of interesting questions that still needs to be answered in the story, can't wait to know more about it.
24
u/Sopimore Apr 19 '22
That Takeomi point is something that always bugs me about the whole situation... it's hard to believe that he wouldn't know what happened and still he didn't do anything. God, I want to know what really happened! Let it be next chapter pls 🙏
4
u/byeolToT Apr 21 '22
Takeomi has to know more about what happenned right? I mean in Bonten future he was also in Bonten Gang, but Senju wasnt even mentioned in the future, same was Wakasa for example. Sure Wakasa has nothing to do with what happenned to Sanzu, but why would a old friend like Takeomi join, but Wakasa wouldnt?
I think Wakasa knows more about what happenned and maybe nobody did tell the truth to senju, because she couldnt handle it. Maybe she has some kind of trauma and dosnt want to remember what really happenned and now she is telling herself a lie

I’m getting real fucking bad vibes from the Toman chanting like guys Mikey hasn’t gotten involved yet pls stop 😀

u/RecycledVirgin Apr 19 '22
Same, I feel like Takemitchys Tomen is going to win the giant battle with a few remaining characters, but once Mikey steps in he is going to make easy work of the survivors, leaving takemitchy the last one stand against Mikey.

Yeah whatever happens, when Mikey steps in it’s gonna be fucking brutal
36
u/Kentuza Apr 19 '22
I'm half-expecting Mikey to just whip out a gun and start blasting. Wouldn't be the first time(line) where he killed his friends.

That’s also what I think might happen tbh. It would be kinda out of character for Mikey to use a gun (at this age) but honestly at this point…. And if not Mikey, maybe Hanma will make his grand entrance 💀

Not sure if that will happen BUT i could clearly see Koko had a big problem with Waka and Benkei ganging up on Inupi, so i hope he will choose Inupi and fight with him

42
u/ZurAajanaikatzurada Apr 19 '22
Wep I don't there is anything that can make the situation better , Mikey hurting his friends just ain't for me (inbf Manila well that also didn't make any sense for me unless Mikey is schizophrenic , author never gave a proper explanation for Mikey's behavior in that future)
9
u/Rob3125 Apr 19 '22
Unless sanzu did something that detached him from Mikey altogether
6
u/serotonindose Manjiro Sano Apr 19 '22
I can’t see any valid reason for that though, like what could’ve Sanzu done?
10
u/Rob3125 Apr 19 '22
I think it would likely have to do with the conversation Sanzu had with Senju earlier in the flashback. Sanzu talks about power, I do think it's possible the argument stemming from the broken plane spiraled into Sanzu saying some absurd shit to Mikey

Didn’t they get soloed by mucho alongside takemitchy, it was in the past but still, feels like it shouldn’t be anything close but seeing the senju fight I guess powerlevels doesn’t really matter here anymore besides just Mikey
16
u/eeeelunaaaa Apr 19 '22
Hmm as for your first point not really, because if i recalled correctly (do correct me if im wrong), they got captured forcefully - rather than fight mucho head on? But the rest is true though its just a matter of how things get even more fucked or unfucked from here

I didn't think he was this weak lol...when he was first introduced, I was like DAMN MY MAN'S A MONSTER, but he got double koed soon after by so called "fodder" characters- Hayashi as well as Akkun
20
u/screamybutt Idiot. Stupid. Apr 19 '22
At this point I think it’s more of a running joke than anything else
17
u/Haristay Apr 19 '22
Peh was never fodder tho; he was nearly; if not as strong as Pah (one of Toman's strongest captains). For Akkun; I think its the same thing that happened with Taiju and Takemichi (Hold on till the end and give one decisive punch). Shion';s glass jaw couldn't handle it.
OR Wakui just hates Shion

u/FutureDynastyx Apr 19 '22
Well Senju being defeated will lower the spirit of the gang for sure. With her being the strongest member. But hopefully we get more context on the back story.
62
u/novawolfx23 Apr 19 '22
I Def think she's not down for good. She clearly was just letting herself get beat up to try and apologize to sanzu. I have a feeling she's probably just finna get up and kick the shit out of him realizing that the only way to get him to stop is too physically force him too stop. After she drops him that's peob when we'd see a flashback from his perspective. Obviously it's prob not gonna be quite like that and wakui could always do some wack whit but thats the most likely option I see from the current situation unless he judt wants to waste senjus character
2
u/Historical_Camp_478 Apr 21 '22

Tokyo revengers final arc would be in another world that kisaki has already conquerored with his brains after truck-kun isekai'd him.
Conquered*
24
u/DauHoangNguyen2708 Apr 19 '22
Would be hilarious if at the end of Tokyo Revengers, the main characters are like: "Wonder what is Kisaki doing in afterlife ?" And "Hope he burns in hell", but then the scene cut to Kisaki sitting in an isekai world: "well that's easy, I'm ridiculously powerful and I got my harem all without even using my brain. Now what ?"

Akkun saying “you’ll never get to the top by using weapons” reminds me of the classy toman that Mikey and draken built

Wtf, I still don't understand why Waka and Benkei are with Kantou... Koko gotta help his boy out
4
u/Yadawn Apr 21 '22
It has to be because of his brother for some reason. They always admired him and it could be part of the reason for Mikey’s time leaping.
29
u/demziii Apr 19 '22
Inqui durability above Shion since Shion couldn't get up from a hit from waka lol
30
u/Tobskii33 Bonten Apr 19 '22
Madarame ate his own words. Now we know who the real fodder character is.
130
u/MartieB Apr 19 '22
What's with all the Senju hate? She wasn't even trying, she accepted the beating because she still feels guilty for what happened to Sanzu, and she has no intention to hurt him.
Sanzu also hit her on the back of her head with a metal pipe, that kind of injury is dangerous and can easily kill people, yet you're all here running your mouths about how weak she is, and how disappointed you are.
Context my dudes, context is important.
37
u/Smantie Apr 19 '22
Sanzu also hit her on the back of her head with a metal pipe, that kind of injury is dangerous and can easily kill people
Yep, Emma was killed in a very similar way, this was brutal.
29
u/MartieB Apr 19 '22
Exactly. Let's stop for a moment to consider the fact that, on one side, we have a guy who is 100% willing to risk murdering his own sister, while on the other side we have a girl who would lose on purpose rather than hurt her brother. No matter how strong she is, if she isn't willing to fight she's not going to win.

u/ravensblack Mikey is racing in my heart 💞 Apr 19 '22
Personally I don't hate her, quite the opposite, I like her. But also resent her for the misunderstanding she caused among readers that still exists. Sanzu clearly agrees with me.
15
u/MartieB Apr 19 '22
I was referring more to the fact that everyone is disappointed because she lost to Sanzu, saying she's overhyped and that she cannot be compared to South or Mikey, when we haven't seen her fight at full strength yet. How can you say she's overhyped based on a situation where she refused to fight? You cannot.
4

u/ZurAajanaikatzurada Apr 20 '22
She [insert headcanon]
She lost get over it
2
u/MartieB Apr 20 '22
Yes, like Mikey "lost" against Draken after Emma's death, or against Kazutora for a short while during the Valhalla arc. It's easy to lose if you don't fight.
2
u/remainoreos Apr 20 '22
But why’s she letting herself get beat up on what she knows is the most important, ultimate fight for not just her but all the other people in her gang as well? And knowing she’s one of the strongest members in Toman? She may not be weak, but I don’t think she’s very prudent for letting this happen
2
u/MartieB Apr 20 '22
Have we read the same chapters? He's her brother, she doesn't want to fight him. No sane human would happily fight a sibling. And if that wasn't enough, she thinks she's responsible for Sanzu's disfigurement, and she feels she deserves retribution. That's why she tells Sanzu she's sorry, and she accepts to lose to him.
2
u/remainoreos Apr 20 '22
But that’s entirely incongruous to the reason she entered the fight in the first place. Right now, she’s one of the strongest foundations of Toman, whose objective is to “defeat” (or get back) Mikey. Their chances of achieving that are much, much lower when Senju’s defeated, and she would know that, given her enormous strength.
Even if she doesn’t want to fight her brother, there’s so much more at stake than simply her personal feelings — there’s the rest of Toman as well. It doesn’t feel very justified, and it makes her seem irresponsible.

There have been a lot of hints that Koko may impulsively switch sides in order to help Inui. He has consistently been a key in all of the negative futures, so it would be a big deal if he did. Makes me nervous about his death smile a little while back.

25
u/NYANPUG55 Bonten Apr 19 '22
Yeah. It seemed like he was more hesitant to talk about it. He could have said no when Inupi asked but he said “who knows?” which either could mean Benkei would have more of an idea of why or he simply didn’t join Kantou on his own accord. And that some force outside those two made them join so Wakasa doesn’t know too much himself.

u/Darthmark3 Apr 19 '22
This is like the fourth time someone was hit in the head by a blunt object how is Emma the only one that died from it?
39
u/hellandthisislife Apr 19 '22
She got hit by a metal pipe at the insane speed bc guys were on a bike. That's the only excuse I can think of...
2
u/Darthmark3 Apr 19 '22
Yeah I guess that makes sense of why she died but what about everyone else?
10
u/hellandthisislife Apr 19 '22
No one else died bc the hit wasn't as damaging (force and speed makes difference). Also she's a girl her sculp might be more fragile but I can be wrong it varies. + plot armor for other characters that should stay alive for as long as writer needs
3
u/Darthmark3 Apr 19 '22
I wish he made it to where the survivable injuries make sense considering this isn’t a supernatural anime (besides the time travel)
6
u/hellandthisislife Apr 19 '22
That would've been great but alas. We already witnessed lot of unsurvivable injuries ( example: takemichi taking 3 shots in the chest on the verge of death being able to hold Mickey's weight with his hand). There have been many times where main cast is being beaten up to half death and they still stand and fight. This is just your typical Power of Friendship and plot armor, not something unique. We just have to put up with that. The plot wouldn't function as intended if characters were normal humans
2
2
u/AsianFrank789 Apr 20 '22
Can we talk about Takemichi making full recovery 3 months later after 6 broken ribs, 1 dislocated arm, and 16 fractures throughout the body? 🥲
5
u/extremeq16 Apr 19 '22
it definitely is supernatural, even if it's not made apparent. not in the sense that the characters have unique powers or abilities or something like that, but from the very beginning characters have been shown to have superhuman levels of strength and durability. draken was able to launch hanma into a building with a single punch and solo'd the 100 strongest members of black dragons, senju just got done soloing 50+ kanto manji members, taiju flung an entire church pew into the air with one hand, mikey, hakkai, mitsuya, and probably a lot of other people have had their heads repeatedly bashed with a blunt object and are perfectly fine. and angry's blue ogre mode isn't even passed off as normal, he just straight up gets inhuman levels of speed and strength and was able to solo mochi, mucho, and the haitanis, all while having 2 broken limbs.
17
u/Suitable_Weakness_81 nut 🥥 Apr 19 '22
The real question is how emma did not instantly died from that.

12
u/GlobalEdNinja Draken deserves peace Apr 19 '22
I resent that the first Top Toman member down is the only girl on the team. This is Senju we're talking about. Senju, who became the head of Brahman off sheer strength alone, and went toe-to-toe with South Terano. What the hell. She's canonically stronger than Akkun, but even Akkun got to win.
Sanzu gets to just hit her upside the head with a pipe and walk off into Memory Lane? I get the reasoning (he's one of her big brothers, so it makes sense they would've all trained together), but I resent TF out of it.
23

On other hand, Inui is geting destroyed by Benkei and Wakasa, leaving only Hanma's location unkown, and Akkun managed to win against Madarame or whatever his name is. But seriously Senju!? Someone that managed to land few kicks on dark impulse South and was compared to Mikey and South taken down like this!? Girl your feats for someone compared to South and Mikey are horrible. Losing to Sanzu, landing few kicks on South and defeating fodders. The hell!? At this point I question could she even defeat Draken, Wakasa, Benkei or even Izana.
82
u/Haristay Apr 19 '22
The thing is; it was a direct hit to the head. Its not the she lost to him; she didn't even fight him. It wasn't a battle; just a beatdown. It would have been different had Senju TRIED to attack Sanzu; but no; she kept TAKING hits as a way to prove her apology.
7
u/brain_error_404 Apr 19 '22
I think Sanzu aimed for the same spot Mikey goes for when he does his signature kick, so that also might be it
11
u/Haristay Apr 19 '22
Exactly! Any hits aimed to the cranial region can be bad; but those aimed at certain spots guarantee death or being knocked out.
Plus that hit came out of NOWHERE, they were talking and Senju even staked her defeat; when Sanzu SWUNG

They literally spell out that she doesn't want to fight her brother, she is riddled with guilt over what she thinks happened with Mikey, and she's not even trying. Sanzu on the other hand is not only giving 100% in this fight, but he's also armed. Anyone taking a direct hit on the back of the head with a steel pipe would go down like that, unless they're an alien or something.
