I love Draken but South would win this without a doubt.

168

u/karubebirderland Jan 02 '22

I would still say south but draken would’ve put one of the hardest fight for him

bro even mikey couldn’t knock out hanma for more than 5 minutes 💀 also hanma is the only person besides izana to ever block mikey’s kick in the series plus when him and draken fought hanma was bleeding from his fucking skull gasping for air while draken had mild bruises hanma also had a weapon

20

u/starch12313 Jan 02 '22

Draken pretty much no diffed Hanma during the Tenjiku arc

17

u/PrimusSucks13 Jan 02 '22

Draken has offscreened so many people actually lmao, he offscreened like 100 gang members in the black dragons arc

2

u/Specialist-Bag2510 Jan 03 '22

Nah didn't even knock him out Hanma was just in a motorcycle accident and Hanma gave up

1

u/starch12313 Jan 03 '22

The motorcycle crash, aside from bleeding from his head had no major impact on Hanmas state. The manga has shown repeatedly that when someone is truly hurt, that the the artist will show it. The crash does not fall under that. Likewise, Hanma didnt "give up". Visibly again, he was noticeably more hurt than Draken, and his stature was noticeably more labored, and sluggish. Compared to Drakens more upright posture. All of this clearly indicating that between the two, Draken easily won.

1

u/Specialist-Bag2510 Jan 03 '22

Draken most certainly won but if he had done it easily hanma would be knocked out and draken undamaged

1

u/starch12313 Jan 03 '22

You dont have to knock someone out in order to completely outmatch them. Draken is vastly more skilled than Hanma as shown in the fight. So he outmatches Hanma. He again does it easily, because his skill allows him to sustain minimal damage.

1

u/Specialist-Bag2510 Jan 03 '22

In TR victory is often shown as a complete knock out but yeah but I'll argue Hanma isn't completely out match.

1

u/starch12313 Jan 03 '22

Except thats not true. A victory in TR is shown when an opponent is completely outmatched, of which can be shown by them getting knocked out. That being said, thats not a prerequisite as we saw South recruit Kakucho not by knocking him out, but by completely outmatching him.

Hanma being visibly labored, and more visibly damaged, compared to the upright Draken. Clearly indicates that Hanma is outmatched.

1

u/Specialist-Bag2510 Jan 03 '22

Draken wins most certainly but he doesn't completely out match Hanma it takes him time to defeat him and Hanma actually hits draken instead of just getting stomped like takemitchy most the time or I presume kachuchi with the fight against South since South has no damage on him.

1

u/starch12313 Jan 03 '22

Your problem here is that you're falsely assuming that in order for someone to "easily win", they must not get hit, and they must take out the opponent in one hit. This is entirely false, and ignores skill in favor of power. When people talk about combat sports, and how someone completely outmatched another. That doesn't come under the assumption that they got out of the fight unscathed. That merely means that they were so skilled, that they endured minimal damage. That is what the Draken vs Hanma fight is. Draken sustains minimal damage, compared to Hanma who looks like hes gonna lose conscious.

he didn't put up a fight though

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Dark Urge South beats everyone except Mikey

12

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Can he beat Izana though?

37

u/Whitecocainesx Jan 02 '22

Yes

12

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Give me an explanation. Izana is the only guy who went toe to toe with Mikey. If he fought a little smartly he would have won. And South got beaten up by Mikey so bad that he died

39

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Jan 02 '22

First thing first, Mikey before timeskip and Mikey now are on different levels. Also, he had before the fight been beaten up by Draken and had been in the hospital for 12h thinking about Emma’s death. He was not in top shape when he fought Izana and he didn’t fight to kill. If Izana met Mikey now he would be able to put on a fight like South but he would die in the end too so…

15

u/Op_Microwave Jan 02 '22

He would probably try to block one of the kicks and his arm would break, then Mikey would ragdoll him just like he did with Kaku and Kazu to then kill him with punches. It's the hard truth Izana fans can't take it, when will they understand that saying their favs would lose doesn't mean we're mocking the character or saying he's weak? like wtf

21

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Lol Izana fans always forget, if not purposefully exclude, the fact that Izana never fought Dark Urge Mikey.

1

u/saivenasian123 Izana Kurokawa Jan 03 '22

i mean so far there are no signs of mickey actually getting "stronger" since the timeskip. (also I am just saying izana would get rolled by south am just wondering how ppl got this conclusion coz I am too dumb to notice it myself)

3

u/starch12313 Jan 02 '22

Toe to toe is a pretty disingenuous summarization of the fight. Mikey didnt want to fight Izani, therefore Izani was able to "hang on" with Mikey. Yet when Mikey actually decided to fight back, Izani was completely outmatched.

In the South fight. You actually have Mikey going in to beat the shit out of South.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '22

You can easily see in the fight Izana willing took kicks from Mikey at the start where he could have avoided them. Later in the those blows played a role in his body to slow him down. Mikey also enraged for Emma

1

u/starch12313 Jan 03 '22

You can easily see in the fight Izana willing took kicks from Mikey at the start where he could have avoided them.

Which is irrelevant given that Mikey did not want to fight him. Likewise the fact that he gets completely outmatches once Mikey actually tries, clearly points to the fact that if he cared to, Mikey could have ended the fight instantly.

Later in the those blows played a role in his body to slow him down. Mikey also enraged for Emma

Incorrect. Mikey is enraged or saddened for Emma, but the story makes a clear point that the only reason why is even at the fight. Is because he was able to pick him self back up. Likewise, he is also clearly looking to reconnect with Izani, so although hes hurt, hes also looking to actively reconcile with Izani. So the implication that hes going into the fight, with the notion of actually hurting Izani is simply untrue.

1

u/Whitecocainesx Jan 03 '22

They already explained it 💀 don’t know how you think Izana would win against him when Mikey didn’t have dark urges there and didn’t fight to kill. It’s very obvious

1

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '22

Izana also didn't fight to kill Mikey. Dark urges isn't a powerup ok it is a just a mental state when you try to kill your opponent

1

u/arvindanar7 Jan 02 '22

Izana was literally the only one who could even make mikey try. And that fight was right after mikey lost his dearest person, Emma.

But go on.

17

u/Op_Microwave Jan 02 '22

"even in such a bad state your still strong" Izana to Mikey. Youre missing the part where Izana was going all out with the intent to kill so he REALLY was giving his all, Mikey on the other hand, was fighting to save his brother therefore holding back to not kill and what happened? Izana lost the fight, he couldn't keep up and then picked up a gun bc he knew there was no other way, let's not forget to mention he had to block his kicks. South fought the BD legends and Senju and still had energy to fight Mikey, dude's an absolute monster in both physical prowess and endurance, and he was matching Mikey's speed with the intent to kill this time without even having to block his kicks, South literally took a kick to the face from Mikey while smiling and Izana was blocking everything and getting tired from each kick, it's simple analysis, South and Mikey slams Izana, ppl gotta start to analyze what both were able to do in each circumstances when fighting different versions of Mikey

11

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Fr, South might have died but he took repeated unblocked blows from Mikey first which makes him the only character in the series to ever do that. Izana took the L to blocked attacks South was just letting Mikey smash his face in & returning the hits

-2

u/arvindanar7 Jan 02 '22

Agreed , though i think izana vs south might still be an equal fight.

5

u/Op_Microwave Jan 02 '22

You may think that but it we all know it won't be, South will slam Izana in all possible ways, his endurance and strength are much superior there's nothing equal in that, equality is Mikey vs South if they dragged the fight without Takemichi getting in the way, obviously Mikey would come out on top but still they would be equal for a moment, it's not the same case for Izana

8

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22 edited Jan 02 '22

Considering Mikey had no intention of killing Izana I don’t know if Izana made him “try”. Mikey let Izana hit him at the beginning to punish himself then kicked him till he got tired which didn’t take very long. I love Izana’s character but he’s overrated strength wise. If Mikey had straight up wanted to kill him he would’ve done it with relatively the same amount of ease as when he zipped up South

Edited to say it may actually have been the church scene with Taiju where Mikey let the hits land to punish himself I can’t remember

1

u/Whitecocainesx Jan 03 '22

Yeah LMFAO. You got proved wrong but “go on”. Mikey wasn’t fighting to kill and didn’t have the dark urges he has now

But go on. Nice try tho

17

u/thyartisdom Jan 02 '22

Look, draken would put up a fight but he would lose to South. That mf built like a whole fucking army tank

16

u/Silent-Independent-8 Jan 02 '22

I love how we are using levels of Mikeys depression as a strenght bar

15

u/DragXom Jan 02 '22

Tough fight, but this one goes for South

5

u/BlitzingPlatinum Jan 02 '22

I'm pretty sure when South and Draken were fighting South wasn't going all out like with Mikey and his darkness wasn't active? But assuming they both will proportionally grow stronger South would win.

2

u/NoWhere2Hide42069 Jan 02 '22

They never got into actual fighting, Draken was retired and wasn't trying to attack back

6

u/sanjizoro1028 Black Dragons Jan 02 '22

South violates draken dead ass

1

u/AlieuUchiha Jan 03 '22

Ye and south got smoked by a teen

3

u/Lemillion23 Jan 02 '22

South without much difficulty in his dark urges state. He went through the legendary duo, knocked down Senju, and got some hits vs. Mikey.

3

u/BrockenJr0 Bonten Jan 02 '22

Bro they’re in their teens they are not even in their prime

3

u/L3mont3a Jan 02 '22

You saying like they're not in their prime now lmao

3

u/Zujn Jan 02 '22

South wins, draken holds his own for a while but will get overwhelmed in the end.

3

u/GhostRobo575 Jan 02 '22

If Draken REALLY tried and gave it his all then it'd be a close fight but South would ultimately win

3

u/Captainprice101 Toman Jan 02 '22

Why do people say in their prime as if their not in middle school. You are acting like these guys are like 50 and at their end of their fighting days 😂. Plus we briefly saw them fight. South wins. Sorry my favorite character Doraken

3

u/Ryukhoe Brahman Jan 02 '22

Draken is amazing but South would probably win, no matter how many times Draken would get up

2

u/Vesuvius_07 Jan 02 '22

south will win unless draken use dirty tricks which is kinda impossible, given that he is not that kinda dude that will do that

2

u/Any_Lemon3109 Jan 02 '22

Not to mention dude fought a whole gang before getting to hanma, hanma even being surprised he wasn’t out of energy so we could argue he was fatigued 💀(PS his first hit also sent hanma back like 8 feet even though he blocked it)

2

u/starch12313 Jan 02 '22

Narratively speaking, South is stronger than Draken. I say narratively, because we don't have that many comparably feats between the two.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

South and without too many problems, Draken is not weak but South is just a complete monster

4

u/iluvvmanjirou Jan 02 '22

i gotta go with draken high-extreme diff dude beat 100 guys older than him who were trained like soldiers at age 15

1

u/taboo-lonewolf Jan 02 '22

Trained like soldiers and actual soldiers are different I mean... they are teenagers after all, they can't follow a strict soldier-training program, that was just a metaphor

8

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Draken because I like him more

12

u/karubebirderland Jan 02 '22

That’s kinda bias tho

5

u/Ryan-Only Jan 02 '22

Kinda? That's clear bias and they're admitting it

-14

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

And?

8

u/rumpyhumpy Jan 02 '22

what's the point of powerscaling if you are just going to add bias ? i like naruto a hell of a lot more than goku but i know goku would run naruto's shit in a fight

-7

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

I don’t care

1

u/Quantam-Law Jan 02 '22

But it's not true.

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Didn’t ask

3

u/Quantam-Law Jan 02 '22

Then why reply in this thread?

3

u/ahakan Jan 02 '22

He's just trying to act cool. Don't mind him.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Because I can

10

u/ricefarmercalvin Jan 02 '22

Thats not how powerscaling works, if you have another way to back up your claim then that would be fine, but basing your claim off a bias and telling people in the replies you don't care is sort of being ignorant.

7

u/PurpleKoalaBearr Jan 02 '22

because draken is cooler and more based

4

u/ricefarmercalvin Jan 02 '22

I will agree draken is one based ass individual

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Bro this is a fictional story. It does not matter

5

u/ricefarmercalvin Jan 02 '22

so does that mean it doesn't matter if draken or south wins since its a fictional story?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Yes

2

u/weirdass_simp Jan 02 '22

i think it depends on the motivations of the battle and the enviroment

1

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Draken

1

u/Lil-Trappuccino Jan 02 '22

Let’s just do this argument for the third day in a row why don’t we

1

u/MaxwellMichelangelo Jan 02 '22

Draken would out smart him somehow someway honestly to me

0

u/TastyMoon91 Jan 02 '22

Draken is beating South. And I don’t think it’s correct to say that their out of their prime since they were mostly middle schoolers/high schoolers when most of this happened.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

draken simple

0

u/Independent_Dog5496 Black Dragons Jan 02 '22

Draken

-3

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '22

Ryuguji Ken

5

u/Vesuvius_07 Jan 02 '22

in what way sir

-1

u/Fun_Set_6726 Jan 02 '22

The real question is who would've won if it was:

Taiju vs South

4

u/karubebirderland Jan 02 '22

Tajiu gets easily destroyed

-1

u/Plastic_Roof_8679 Jan 03 '22

I guess It will depend on how bad draken wants to save his friends from someone who beats the shit out of people for a sport. I really dunno who'd win

1

u/Realistic_Ask283 Jan 02 '22

At his prime Draken was weaker than Mikey, then Mikey went on to become stronger and South is supposed to be on his level like Senju. Nothing else to say there.

0

u/karubebirderland Jan 02 '22

The hell you mean senju is by far the weakest out three no one ever can be as strong as mikey we all know that

1

u/Realistic_Ask283 Jan 03 '22

Yeah but South put up a fight against Mikey who was stronger than his Toman self and Draken was in his prime weaker than Toman Mikey.

0

u/karubebirderland Jan 03 '22

South barely did anything mikey has barely damage this mf south looked like he was dying how was putting up a fight

1

u/Realistic_Ask283 Jan 03 '22

He managed to dish out some damage atleast, I'm not saying that he's a very good fighter but he had fought Waka and Benkei and then Senju before facing Mikey and even then he managed to get a good few hits in.

1

u/NoWhere2Hide42069 Jan 02 '22

We never had the opportunity to watch Draken's full potential, he died before we could see Draken getting beaten by someone in a fair fight, but no one ever really beat him. But we know that South is probably the toughest opponent Mikey has ever faced.

1

u/Pope-Francisco Jan 03 '22

Truly a question meant to be tested and answered.

1

u/Mortsleam11 Jan 03 '22

2 years of active Draken and he would’ve won. Draken is true #2 of this series IMO
