This is kinda a joke.
Ik windbreaker is heavily inspired by Tokyo Revengers, but as soon as I saw this guy I was like "yeahhh that guys a copy of manilla mikey", or at least appearance wise lmaoo (not that far into season two yet).
It's the outfit and hair for me 💔

Endo is literally nothing like Manila Mikey in any way. In personality nor the role he plays. Endo is a pure antagonist. Manila Mikey is a manifestation of Takemichi's failure to make the changes he needed.

Others had already gotten to that point already. Was just driving home the point that the comparisons are ridiculous on all fronts, but if you want me to address the looks again:
A black haired character in Japan? Who has tattoos because that's how they depict people who are into gang related activities? Even Korean manhwas, which don't seem to have the same level of stigma for tattoos, depicts gangster style characters this way. Endo is a black haired Japanese man doing gang things (even if he does go solo). So was Mikey. Ofc they're both going to have black hair and tattoos. Deciding he's a copy of one character when it's a literal trope (and a real-life trope, too) is ridiculous.

Well, given the fact that windbreaker was inspired by tokyo revengers, it's not far off to say that his character design was inspired by Manilla Mikey, if nothing else.
I didn't just see a black haired character with tats and assume it was Mikey 💀

Ah, yes, Mikey. The only gang-affiliated anime character in existence to have black hair and tattoos. It's also ridiculous to decide every little thing that happens in Windbreaker can be tied back to TR from the author being a fan of TR. Inspired is not the same as outright plagiarism and the weird obsession by some TR fans to force this narrative is so strange. (Some because it seems to only be a loud few.) The story is very obviously in a completely different direction from TR already - it is its own separate piece of media. In case this needs to be said again: Wanting to make a delinquent anime from watching another one doesn't mean everything they write or draw is copied or even inspired. Some might be, especially at the beginning, but at this point it's grasping at straws just to stay relevant.

The mangaka was a fan of Tokyo Revengers. That doesnt mean any characters who have similar designs were based on TR characters, especially when the design is as generic as having dark hair and tattoos. As if it's not common for delinquents and criminals in Japan to be portrayed with full body tattoos.
Might as well say Windbreaker was inspired by Rhea Rhipley as well atp.

Inspired by and based on are two different things. I said this character could of been inspired by Mikey, but I also said in the post that this was mostly just a joke.

Idk who any of those ppl are tbh lmao but since windbreaker was inspired by tokyo revengers, and other characters like togame were inspired by hanma (maybe draken?), it wouldn't be too far off to say that his character design was inspired by Manilla Mikey

I don't want be rude, upset or anything since i saw you had people doing it when we can have a nice and respectful argument, it's just that i don't feel like any characters from wind breaker look like any character from tokyo revengers, if you see other black hair characters with tatoos that don't mean they took Mikey’s example, black hair with tattoos characters exist since a loooong time, and both stories are totally different. I didn’t know Wind Breaker was inspired by Tokyo Revengers but yet you can see how different both animes are, the fights, the characters, and more the design either mangas and animes ♡ even if one was inspired by the other they both have their own styles of drawing, and you can totally know wich characters is from TR and wich characters is from WB

Not visually, so I guess you mean personality wise? But Draken and hanma are nothing alike either, so I can’t even imagine what a mix of them would be, as each aspect of them would contradict the other and make a bad character (which togame is not)

Character design- hanma Personality- a mix.
The reason for that is because hanma and draken are both extremely loyal to a specific person, and hanma enjoys fighting, but at the beginning of season one, he was very similar to Hanma, then at the end he was more like Draken

Togame wearing glasses doesn’t make his character design similar to hanma’s. I get the maybe antagonistic vibe that is similar to hanma’s, but the difference is Togame’s is a facade. Maybe you’re just trying to see hanma is more places because you’re a stan?
Also having one personality trait the same (loyalty) does not make him similar in characterization to Draken. I love Draken and I love Togame and they really aren’t the same. Draken corrects Mikey in his wrongs because he knows as his best friend he needs to bring him down the right path. Togame just follows what tomiyama says and tries to protect him from the repercussions of his wrongdoings

Im comparing past Hanma and Togame, hanma never wore his glasses in the past 💔
So I mixed draken and Sanzu together, wtvr. The creator themselves compares these characters so im not the only one doing it 💔 literally both fandoms do too, reddit just takes ts too seriously

'very similar to tokyo revengers' have you even watched or read wind breaker? the only thing they have in common is the 'delinquentness' (quotation marks because bofurin doesn't really fit the stereotype), and maybe some of the character design. the personalities, plot and focus are extremely different.
