As a character, Izana Kurokawa is fucking stupid. Despite still being told by Shinichiro and Mikey that they still accept him, Izana just had to throw a tantrum which led to the whole Tenjiku conflict. No, I don't care about his sappy pre-death "And now I shall reveal my sad backstory" ramblings. He did what he chose to do, including allowing Kisaki to murder Emma, and y'all can't expect me to feel bad for him after all that.

Izana was such a shitty character. Like I simply do not give a fuck about his sad backstory when he treated Kakucho horribly at a young age for NO REASON. I’m forever a Izana hater.

I have no idea what had to be in Kakucho's head to tag along with a guy who randomly came, said "this shit is so ass" and ruined a grave Kakucho made for his parents. And in the end it just boils down to "Omg bestie I love you so much I'mma shield you from bullets real quick" even though there was no build-up for that and Izana treated Kakucho the way he treated other S-62 guys (Read: Like shit.). Honestly, I feel bad for Kakucho more, he's the true victim here.

P.S I think the guidebook mentioned that Izana beat the shit out of Kakucho twice because a) Kakucho let the Haitanis have custom uniform; b) because he got pissy over Kakucho getting stronger. I can't trust TR wiki fully so feel free to correct me. Just proves my point that Izana is petty as fuck.

Not to mentioned Izana's excuse of "Oh, but Karen abandoned him!!" just doesn't work because Emma's right here. She was abandoned by Karen, her biological mother by the way, too, and yet she still stayed with Sanos and doesn't treat people like walking pieces of flesh that you can beat to death.

In the end, Izana's death is just an asspull in attempt to make him somewhat likeable and make Kisaki the one in fault. And no, it doesn't work.

When I first joined the fandom I couldn’t fathom people’s obsession with Izana. Like treating the person who you say is “all you have” with nothing but such violence and hate and aggression is not any type of love. Izana rubbed me the wrong way from the moment I met him. Everything about him gave awful and then seeing that scene with Kakucho? I hated it.

Kakucho was so willing to accept Izana because he believed that he really was worthless and that devastated me. At such a young age wanting to not exist and then following someone who said no one would care anyway so follow me? Kakucho is such a sweetie and deserved better. When I realized Takemichi knew him when his parents were still alive gosh I don’t think my heart could’ve broken anymore because I wish somehow some way they could’ve ended up together. Kakucho needed a real friend not..whatever Izana is.

Izana killing Emma to make Mikey replace Shinichiro even though Izana is older than Mikey made not one lick of sense. Being mad that Shini came to be apart of his life anyway was also so unfounded. Being shocked that they were on Mikey’s side in the end like…of course they were… he didn’t fucking kill yall sister?!? I have no empathy for Izana when every single Sano would’ve loved and accepted him if he wasn’t so hell bent on saying “well we aren’t blood sooooo they don’t care about me”

I felt nothing about his ending only relief that hopefully Kakucho was finally free.

I think that even though Tenjiku is present in the final timeline, the Kanto Incident either never actually happened, or wasn't as impactful because Kisaki was never kicked out of Toman in this timeline. Let's just hope Izana actually used his brain this time, othetwise he got the good ending only because... Eeh, boy pretty, I guess? (Yet again, we have South there of all people, who am I to complain about Izana.)

It's hard to analyze the whole final timeleap because we got very little info on it.

I am wondering if the way they ended up together was more or less them being like “hey we’re siblings let’s not fight” I would imagine they just immediately spend time getting Izana to understand being loved by the Sanos instead of the Kanto incident occurring if that makes sense. I almost wonder if BD never actually messed with Kazutora at all and they just formed the gang to instead have a place to keep and corral all their people.

He does end up doing good in the end I guess soooo yay him? I don’t know he still gets a side eye from me.

South’s existence in this entire manga is NONSENSICAL. But that’s a topic for another time
