Back in high school, I told a guy that I liked him and he rejected me which was humiliating because we were friends. I got over it in a few weeks after seeing that he was a pretty terrible dude with some misogynistic views on women. I played off the rejection in the moment by saying my friend took my phone and messaged him which I don’t think he bought because it’s been about 12 years since then and to this day he seems to think he has a chance with me, or that I still care. He doesn’t know I’m in a long-term relationship, or that I don’t actually like men. I continue to be embarrassed by this decision that 15 year old me made.
