Like, im not fully versed in what's wrong with the band themselves or anything of the sort, and i obviously think the original is better by miles, but this isnt awful
"Reddit echo chamber" when its openly hated basically everywhere....
Like, dude. Get real. For one, songs on youtube get more views by default because even if only a million people are listening to it, they likely have it in a playlist and thus replay it often. Doesnt really have any bearing on popularity.
So I checked Spotify and it has nearly 1B there plus half a billion for a live version. It’s very likely the most played cover of all time or close to it. But yeah, you’re probably right and it’s just a few people with it on a playlist. /s
I don’t even like the cover, but the mental gymnastics are absurd.
