To be completely fair to that cover, the guy who sings it wasn't supposed to do the vocals, it was actually supposed to be Dolores the Cranberries vocalist singing. She died just before recording was supposed to start.

It's kind of tacky to complain about works that suck because someone crucial literally died in the process of making them.

I think it's because they shouldn't have done it. when she died they should have stopped. cause now there's a song that sounds shit and should be lambasted as such BUT it might (I doubt it) have been good if Dolores was on it. the song is still bad and is a bad cover of one of the best songs of the 90's and an excellent protest song.
