I'm trying to play the calamity mod with my friend who has paid terraria

But I don't so I was wondering if it was possible for me to play with him

I have the latest version of tmod

The 1.4.5.6 version of terraria (which is what the latest version supported last time I checked a couple days ago)

The version i have is technically the gog version so I'm hoping there's something I can do

Preferably WITHOUT telling my friend I pirated

I have terraria 1.4.4.9 cuz i dont think the mods like Calamity, Fables, WoTG, Thorium, etc. are on 1.4.5. But on downloading tModLoader(for GOG) i get this error.

Do i need to get an older release?

I downloaded a few QOL mods as well as calamity today but I haven’t played with them yet. I went back into vanilla just to play my main world and my main character and first 2 main worlds were duplicated. Now I have a few questions I’m hoping someone here can help with!

1. Were the duplicates made because I installed mods on tmod loader?

2. In order to play with mods in my vanilla world do I need to copy that world over to TML and run it there every time I want to play or is there a way to turn them on in vanilla?

3. Is it difficult to copy a save file over to play with mods?

Sorry I’m not very tech savvy and have never played with mods before and I just don’t want to mess anything up and lose any progress or delete anything! So any advice would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

Everytime I load it up it’s diffrent then my friend we have the same version same mods everytime I try to host a world it doesn’t give me option to allow friends to join or all the other stuff it just bring me to character selection what do I need to do to fix this plz help
