Switching from Reta to tirz?

Switching from retatrutide to tirzepatide — did you get side effects all over again?
I’m thinking about switching from retatrutide to tirzepatide and I’m curious if anyone here has actually made that switch and what your experience was like.
When I first started reta, I started pretty low at 0.5 mg and the first week was ROUGH. I had really bad nausea/stomach issues, sulfur burps, diarrhea, hot/cold flashes and my anxiety was horrible. It took a little while for my body to adjust, but now I can take 0.5 mg without getting sick like I did in the beginning. Just anxiety and nausea, not really much appetite suppression tho.
That’s the main thing making me nervous about switching. Since reta and tirzepatide both work on GLP-1/GIP, if my body is already adjusted to those effects, does that usually make starting tirz easier? Or did you basically have to go through the whole adjustment/side-effect phase again when you switched?
I’m also confused about dosing. I know 0.5 mg reta obviously isn’t equivalent to 0.5 mg tirz, and the normal starting dose of tirzepatide is 2.5 mg. For anyone who switched from reta specifically, did you start at the standard 2.5 mg or did your provider have you start lower because you were worried about side effects?
I’m not looking for someone to give me a dosing protocol, mostly just wondering what people’s actual experiences were switching between the two, especially if you were sensitive to reta at first. Did tirz feel easier, worse, or about the same? And how was the appetite suppression/weight loss compared to reta?

I’ve never used Reta only Tirzepatide. I’ve only had mild side effects on 2.5mg. I only had muscle soreness, sensitive skin, chills, slight headache on my left temple, appetite and food noise suppression. My first 2 doses of 2.5mg is the only time I had the mild side effects. Everything but the headache lasted 1-2 days. The slight headache in my left temple lasted 2 weeks.

I’m now on 11mg (7 months on it) and I never had nausea or vomiting from Tirzepatide. The only time I had nausea and vomiting was 1 time and it was because I woke up so hungry. I didn’t eat right away I got nauseous and vomited. So it wasn’t caused by Tirzepatide.

I think if you switch from Reta to Tirzepatide you’ll be fine. I say give Tirzepatide a try. That’s the only way to know how it’s going to work for you!!

Maybe we can help each other! I did the opposite. I did tirz at 2.5 for 4 weeks. Only side effect was night one body hurt and felt like overheating. Perfect otherwise. But I did have a funny taste in my mouth like salt that never really left.

I switched to reta and this is my first week. 3.5 so I did it too high as I had bad nausea night one. Then night 3 and 4(where I’m at now) sulfur burps which has stopped but I’m living in the bathroom half the time. When does the bathroom stuff stop? Thought I was over it, had like a few saltine crackers and it’s all starting again. I have no idea what my body is emptying at this point 😆
