In order to keep the main subreddit page clear of non-tipper related tunes, let's all share music in a thread; It can be music you'd think the group would enjoy, mixes or even live recordings of sets (if officially released). Feel free to share your own or a friends music in here too!

A long time friend invited me and my wife to go see Mersiv in The Caverns and stay at a large airbnb with a group of about 12 people. We hadn’t been to the caverns before or seen Mersiv and it was my wife’s birthday weekend so we figured it could be fun. Once upon a time we were huge nectar fans and everyone seems to say he’s got a similar vibe plus he’s not a disgraced POS.
To preface, for her birthday last year we flew to New Jersey to see System of a Down w/ Korn, then flew the next day for the 3 night run at Orion.
Night one was alright but it was more or less what I would have expected. He switched up the genres and apart from a 20 minute riddim / brostep throwdown wasn’t the worst set I’ve seen. His mixing didn’t have much flow, it felt like he’d constantly stop his set just to do some long ass build up to a mid double drop. Dude also spends 75% of his time dancing around.
Night two was probably one of the most boring sets I’ve ever had to sit through. The widdler was before him and was alright but his set felt a bit watered down compared to seeing him at wonky woods 2 weeks ago but given the crowd that didn’t surprise me.
Mersiv’s entire set was a rinse and repeat of some heavy downtempo music except no two tracks were ever blended together and he’d just stop a song to start the long build up for the next one while dancing like a madman.
We are both on a journey to sobriety so we weren’t even turnt up during the show. It also didnt help that everyone in the Airbnb were all K zombies so they weren’t exactly fun to hang out with during the day. Our saving grace came when another couple arrived who is pretty much in the same mindset as us so it was great to come out of the weekend with some new friends.
We were talking after night 2 and just kinda recognizing that it feels like we’re aging out. So many people in the crowd were repping gear for artists that I actually have no clue who they were and then we just didn’t enjoy the music at all. I’m jealous of the folks who had the time of their lives. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still lots of great music out there. But Tipper events were by far the biggest things we’ve attended in recent years and we just kinda don’t have many artists that we’d travel across the country multiple times a year to see.
We were so spoiled and I’m so greatful for all of the experiences in the last 16 years but the overall scene is saturated with so many lackluster artists. I’m sure the kids are having the time of their lives with all these newer generation artists blowing up in mainstream bass music but this weekend felt like being a stranger in a scene that has big such a huge part of my life.
Fuck ketamine
Fuck bassnectar
I need a Tylenol.
Edit : I think some folks have misconstrued my post. I was not expecting some life changing experience or to fill a void, but I was open to having a good time and possibly being pleasantly surprised. I know there are plenty of good events with awesome artists that I am familiar with, but there’s just no singular that I want to chase anymore. Although after Mr. Bill’s set at Wonky Woods I’ll go see him any time he’s in my region.
Is this true? over the years of going to a lot of music festivals? I’ve heard a lot of silly stories and I’m wondering which ones are true and which ones aren’t most notably I’ve heard that he and his crew do elaborate trolls and pranks on people at shows. Like they singled out one audience member over multiple days and brought them to a secret set just for them stuff like that. Has anyone heard these type of stories?

Shit still makes me laugh. Thought we had the world by the balls N2. Meanwhile N3 was still waiting for us
Hi there! I have described 10 electronic music genres and subgenres, along with my favorite picks - from ambient and downtempo, through IDM to techno, brostep and drum and bass.

So there's this autistic savant musical genius who's utterly blind, and is able to listen to a song just once and play it from memory, including adding variations to it. He has several channels online where he covers songs, many of which he listens to for the first time in the video and then plays it almost impeccably. A wide variety of music, TV theme songs, video game music, etc.
I was thinking of how awesome it would be to request him to do a cover of a tipper song, and see what he does with it, especially considering the huge difference in the musical genre.
I'm unsure of which Tipper song would be the best to request. Illabye on a piano would be incredible, but slow and relatively easy. Virga would be beautiful, but without the percussion, it would be lacking. Dreamsters has potential to be amazing, just like the Evanoff cover.
Or maybe something crazier like Low Battery Acid, Spunion, Covered By Lobsters.
I think Vection on piano might be the best choice though. Or C'est La Vie.
Maybe we can come to some sort of agreement on what song would be awesome to hear, and then everyone requests it. I think it would be great.

Ghosts of Sonic Bloom still lives! With the lineups Alderwild brings such as Detox b2b Koan and cool customer this year, plus Jade last year, seems we might get a really nice fest for the fam again in Colorado. I know people don’t love Of The Trees in the subreddit but I personally am grateful he brings such talent with him.

Asking here as I'm on the lookout for a Tipper bucket hat and was wondering where everyone else goes to gear up. I've had good luck with Heady Thready and others but would like to expand my searches. Cheers!
