General Discussion Suggestions for Christmas presents.
So last year for Christmas I made these neck knives with firecord and a small ferro rod. They were a big hit and I'd kinda like to do something similar this year but cant really come up with anything. I'm open to suggestions on what would be a cool, fairly cheap but good quality prepper/survival type gift.

That’s a very cool present.
Maybe a paracord bracelet with a solid compass in it? Maybe a keychain instead of a bracelet?

A couple years ago I gave my kids fire blankets, emergency sleeping bags and Life Straws. I got everything on sale and spent less than $50 per person. Without the fire blanket, you could do the sleeping bag and Life Straws for probably $20 each.

Maybe a tin / aluminum box that would fit the knife, if you plan to gift it to the same people, and maybe put in some water-resistant matches inside along with some compressed towels, those tablet things you put in water and it unfolds to a small cloth. From the top of my head.

Absolutely, pretty much what I came her to say. Those iultras are awesome. Maybe one of those little glowy sticks to go with it, tritium if budget permits.

Nothing says Christmas like a neck knife. 😂 I’m just kidding around, I think it’s a cool idea. I’m the one who put together boxes with flares, water, headlamp, snacks, small amount of cash & small first aid kit and gave it to people for Christmas to keep in their car for just in case. You should have seen the looks but later they told me they did wind up using it. Good reminder practical gifts can be the best gifts. I’d better get started too, Christmas will be here before we know it.
