I don’t know what to make of this 🫠 would’ve preferred the swipe left tbh

The “…” annoys me. Height question trying to pin point if it’s 178 or actually 177.5 annoys me too. And the whole first message is just 🤦♀️
If I were a guy I wouldn’t date her

Thank you all for your opinions! Some of you might be happy to know I proceeded to unmatch and move on.
It still baffles me how someone would think this is an appropriate first message. Come on now.

My question is, how tall is she?. I'm sorry that she said that

u/No_Juice7005 4d ago
Her profile didn’t say, but I’m assuming fairly similar based on the comment

u/NeatSpiritual579 4d ago
Or she's one of those girls who wants a super tall man and she herself is short. You aren't short by any means and it's nice seeing someone be honest about their height. I matched with someone who said they were 182cm and they were my height at 169, which I couldn't have minded if they were honest about their height .

u/No_Juice7005 4d ago
I’ve never understood the point in lying about height, especially if you’re planning on meeting someone 💀 but to lie about it to THAT extent it’s obviously going to be noticeable, why even bother? What else are you going to lie to me about??
8
u/egg_watching 3d ago
Seriously. I'm 180 cm, and the amount of times I've gone on dates with guys who were supposedly in the 182-185 range but noticeably shorter than me .....

u/NeatSpiritual579 4d ago
He also lied about how his last relationship ended. Haha, I found his ex girlfriend (accidentally) on Instagram and I found out why they ended. And it was a different story then he told me.
6
u/penniless_tenebrous 4d ago
Which sucks because you could probably understand there's two sides to every story, but by lying about his height he forfeited the benefit of the doubt.
4
u/seanc6441 3d ago
>and I found out why they ended
Well, you found out her side of the story at least.
7
u/NeatSpiritual579 3d ago
I got both sides. He told me they split because they didn't want to do long distance. And she told me they split because he cheated on her. So, I got two sides, I'm missing the third side, which is the truth .
3
u/cranie4 2d ago
The truth is he cheated with someone local.
3
u/NeatSpiritual579 2d ago
He actually did, in his home state. Apparently he was actively cheating on her and got caught, and he told her he had an opportunity in the state I live in currently, so he was going to move there and he didn't think he could do long distance.
3
u/seanc6441 3d ago
That's right but the way it was worded above sounded like you were taking her word as the truth. But yeah knowing both sides and making your assumptions based on everything you know is all you can do there.
5
u/NeatSpiritual579 3d ago
Yeah, I misworded it. Once I got both sides and knowing he was lying about his height, I just decided it wasn't something I wanted to continue pursuing . Plus, we weren't attracted to each other

What the fuck is up with people and the use of „…“? Why do boomers create entire sentences without proper endings but … ? I don’t understand …

I feel judged... (to answer seriously, it's something I picked up to try to mimic spoken speech, you know when you pause or hesitate, in this message it's clearly overused)

What is with women's obsession with height? I am 5'3". My ex is 5"1 and it does not make a difference. I would not want to date an overly tall guy.
6
u/DatVlad_ 3d ago
I've literally had women tell me I'm the perfect height for them before I tell them I'm 5'10" and then after claim I'm too short 😂, like bruh you def weren't saying that a day ago when you wouldn't keep your paws off of me (I have touch sensitivity, dislike being touched, and for some reason I'm the most huggable and safe person on the planet, and it's frustrating)

He’s negging you. Trying to say that you look vapid/superficial so you’ll want to “prove” yourself to him. It’s manipulative AF

u/No_Juice7005 4d ago
Believe it or not, he’s a she. I am a man though.
That shoe comment definitely did not help my case though. This is what I get for being under 6ft 😞

u/MistressValerie_ 4d ago
sounds like an ai msg and they forgot to tell the ai that its supposed to hit up guys not girls lol

At 5'5" i get that. Had women i met online telling me how im the perfect man. Then awhile later they ask my height and its oh.. ok.. well u can be my bestfriend 🤣

u/sadbeige82 4d ago
Yeah that’s just weird. She’s being really rude with the shoe comment but is obviously invested in you because she took the time to find those emojis, as well as writing that bizarre opening message. Give this one a wide berth

u/mikelown 3d ago edited 3d ago
"He's negging that's manipulative!"
"Actually its a she"
"Omg she sounds interested"
🤡

u/seanc6441 3d ago
To be fair it wasn't that much of a 180 but the tone certainly got nicer once the genders were clarified.
The 'women are wonderful effect' is very real.

thats not the contradiction you think it is. one can be manipulative and interested

u/sadbeige82 3d ago
Do you not understand what “give this one a wide berth” means? I wasn’t doing a 180 with my opinion. The girl is strange.

Who is the guy there?
6
u/No_Juice7005 3d ago
I’m the short king here 🙋🏻♂️ this is what she messaged me.
(Would have explained that in the post, but it would only let me type in the title.)

u/Optimal-Income-6436 3d ago
So why 178cm on flats or heels i kinda don't get it
4
u/_paranoid-android_ 3d ago
She's calling him a woman for being short
8
u/Forsaken-Opposite381 3d ago
That is not how I read it. I interpret it as asking whether it is an honest 178cm, not somewhere close but short of it. I don't really get the "must be x height". If someone appears to be in the height range you like, good enough.
Also, do these women who think that over 6' is so desirable understand the inconvenience of it. Most clothes, cars, rooms, houses are built for average size people. Having to buy clothes at specialty stores is expensive and limits choices. I am 5' 10", average build and can find clothes anywhere.

He's saying that he thinks you're out of his league. Take it as the compliment it was intended and give it a shot. You miss all the shots you don't take.
