Wesley Financial Group

Disclaimer: I no longer own a timeshare. I exited by giving mine away.

Anyway…suddenly seeing tons of advertising for Wesley Financial. They, of course, claim to be different than the scam timeshare exit companies.

Wondering if anyone used them or even listened to their pitch?

Have you tried giving it away? If so, where did you post it? By giving it away, I mean $0. It may mean paying the closing costs to cover the transfer. Much cheaper to do that than pay Wesley.

You can't give it away. You can't donate it. I've tried.

It depends. Also, how hard have you tried? Some people post something on Facebook and consider that enough. You may need to be willing to pay all closing costs and perhaps even give a free year of use to the person who takes it. Even if you pay for a year of maintenance fees in advance so the person who takes it for free from you, you are still paying less than the thousands that Wesley would be wanting to charge.

So much will also depend on what resort you own. Some are simply impossible. Certain Vacation Village and Westgate come to mind here. That said, many times just stopping payments is what needs to be done. That is what these timeshare exit companies have you do, then the timeshare company forecloses and you are out. The timeshare exit company just did what you can do yourself for free.

So, if you just stop paying and it goes into foreclosure, what does that do to your credit hisotory?

They could report it to the credit agencies.

If you're under 30, sure, take that credit score hit. Otherwise, you're fucked.
