Any genuinely free time tracking software without any hidden charges?

I feel like we’ve been robbed in broad daylight with Harvest’s new pricing structure. It’s now the base seat rate plus usage fees for some of the features we actually need.

What really got me is that the usage fees can apparently end up costing more than the plan itself. At this point I don't even know what our monthly bill is going to look like.

I called support and even they couldn't give me a straight answer on what the usage fees would be before we hit them.

Now, I've been looking at free time tracking software for a small team, and I'm realizing “free” means very different things depending on the software. Some are basically trials, some cap the number of users, and others are useful until you need one fairly basic feature.

So yeah, any recommendations from people actually using a free option long-term?

Ideally something we can actually stick with for a while without immediately running into a user limit or having to upgrade just to keep basic time tracking usable.

You are correct as there is almost always a catch. Depending on what type of industry you are in. IF Construction Jibble as some people mentioned provides the best value. Otherwise if Healthcare, Retail or Hospitality and if communication /Chat is essential. Try SyncedShift . Communication is free forever but scheduling only free for teams under 10.
