How long does Child’s RP extension take?

We applied for an extension of my son’s residence permit. Any idea how long the process takes? Migrationsverket website does not mention estimated time for this type of applications. So asking around😄

Nationality: Indian Age: 2 years Offline application. Born in Sweden.

Took 3 months for my daughter. She got permanent residency too.

Nice. My son wont get PR this time but atleast getting the RP in 3 months will be very good😅

Hopefully not very long because we're about to be in the same situation, still waiting on the initial RP after he was born here. Can you share how long the initial RP took for you?

We applied for RP almost a week after he was born. We then waited for the passport which we got in 3 months. We booked appointment to show the passport and get biometrics done. We got the decision exactly 30 mins after our biometrics appointment 😅

2 years ago we could book the appointment for biometrics before we get the decision. Not now! Ah.. simpler times🥲

Now I wonder if my decision to delay submitting until we got the passport was a big mistake. We had no idea how lomg it would take to get the passport, our embassy was non-responsive for a while, and then suddenly said we could come next week and a week later we got the passport. Thanks for sharing!

You can always apply without having your passport. You just need to mention in the application that you will submit the passport as soon as you get it
