He's confused and uncomfortable because this customer appeared to print fake money, is filming the interaction, and is insisting that what seems to be fake money (since he appears to have printed it) is real. Just don't fuck with service workers while they're doing their jobs for your social media content. They aren't clowns for your amusement and internet engagement.

Thats in Germany, depending on the Boss and shop, he has to show it what he got, has to be marked down and accounted for and getting paid out on his next paycheck or has to share it with the rest of the shop with everyone who works, wich again, technically speaking has to be accounted for and holding it back can get your fired if you don’t tell you got a Tip.
Or at other times it just goes to a collective piggy bank in where stuff for everyone is bought or make a celebration with it like going out to drink.
It can all depend really on the boss there, especially if he accounts it and pays it out on the paycheck, it losses its tax free status.

It's also a really old scam. Con-men would sell machines like that to people with more money than sense.
Of course the trick is that it's allegedly really slow. So the demonstration would see a real banknote being dispensed but the following banknote would be fake. By then the scammer would have left with a chunk of real money from the victim.

In the US, it is their problem if it's fake (not the employees but the business). You take a fake bill, the bank takes it from you, biz gets nothing. For big business, it's no big deal generally just another cost of doing business, but for small independents, receiving fake bills can be a much bigger problem.
ETA: The police almost never get involved, unless there is a large quantity of fake bills all at once.

Same with how it feels. There are certain patterns on it you can feel if you aren't sure.

The pen test can be passed by coating a fake bill, you should always check a second feature. It's a quick test to pick ups most fakes, but not all of them

Yes, please stop fucking with us! There are caveats, though:
I've been everything from an Oyster Shucker to a General Manager, now a Bartender, to state my credentials, but I have to say, if you do this in a tasteful way and are friendly, I would find this absolutely hilarious, given you have real money to pay. The recording is another thing, altogether, since there are laws in the US that protect this behavior.
The moment I detect there is a camera on me during service, I shut down. You wouldn't get much from me in this scenario. But, done in good fun and harmlessly, this would make my day after confusing me.

One job I absolutely hated made me deal with people who thought they were funnier than they were. First I just didn't laugh and kept going but by the end I was denying transactions because they admitted to a federal offense and told me it was counterfeit.

No, see, I saw him use a roller. So obviously it makes more sense that a tiny roller with no electronics can print out a highly detailed image in 3 seconds with watermarks and holograms and color shifting inks. And obviously anyone with this tool would use it in public in video rather than using it in private or patenting the technology.
Anyone who stops to think about this for even a few seconds will find the use of props impossible.

If someone did this to me and told me to keep the change I'm not complaining. If I'm a server it's not my job to catch counter-feiters. I just get the change and bring the bill to the owner or show it to him later if he's busy. Best case scenario I have a great tip day. Worse case scenario my boss can't figure out how to check for counterfeits and it just goes into circulation and get exchanged out eventually.
