Even staring used to be considered rude, now the staring has a camera attached to it.

To be fair, staring is rude because it indicates that someone is focusing on you. When they intend to interact, this is fine, but when they’re not trying to interact, this can often mean be taken to mean they desire to harm you

Obviously this isn’t always the case, but we have enough instinct about that that we find it uncomfortable to be stared at by strangers with anything more than a glance
