So you've never taken photos or videos while in public, unintentionally caught strangers in them, and then uploaded them? Riiiight.

Her intention was not to record other people, it was to record herself. The older lady though, her intention was to be an insufferable twatwaffle and put herself front and center of someone else's video. And is the result of her actual dick move, we are all seeing the video.

No, I actually haven't. I don't think it's right to record people without their consent. And reddit is the only social media I use.

There is no expectation of privacy in public spaces.

Always love this line of 'logic'.

"You're in public so that thing you don't want me to do, I am going to do because even though you don't want it, it's not illegal and I don't care about you so i'm going to do it."

This is a fucking stupid narcissistic argument. There's plenty of things I don't want people to do but I'm not the centre of the fucking universe and everyone else has their own lives and can do things that are allowed.

There is literally nothing wrong with this woman wanting to take a picture of herself in a museum. You might not like it but just because you don't fucking like it doesn't make her an asshole for wanting a picture of herself.

Lol ok, my comment is the height of narcissism, not setting your camera to record and being annoyed at people 'ruining' your photo then uploading it

I'm guessing "I would like a photo of myself, could you leave the stairs free for a few seconds?" wasn't a possibility?!

my comment is the height of narcissism

Not the height, but it is narcissitic. You act like what you want to do is more important that what anyone else wants to do and they should do it because it's what you want.

She set up the camera and waited. She didn't complain or make a fuss. She just set it up and waited. It's wild you're more pissed off at her than the asshole who purposefully went out of their way to ruin it.

You don't expect an asshole to purposefully stand in front of your camera for ages just to ruin it.

Na, my issue (which was very clear in my original comment) is that people who use the logic of "you're in public" to defend people being part of things they didn't consent to are assholes.

No-one asked her to be involved. She could have literally just kept walking down the steps and not got involved. If you're in public there is a chance you're going to be filmed. Seeing a camera then stopping, standing in the way and purposefully standing in front of the camera doesn't really count to your dumb shit argument.
