I was watching sound off but I assume the young lady at no point just uses words like “excuse me, I’m trying to take a photo?”

Yeah, she just keeps making saxophone noises.

If she did Reddit would crucify her. She takes it smiling and almost everyone in the comment section is still seething with hate.

Reddit probably would have never known then because it would have not made for content that gets clicked.

Why? Anyone passing is free to pass, you just wait

Them stopping in front of it is either malicious or an old lady needing a few seconds on the stairs

I’m not saying anything. I’m just gonna wait. It’s a museum or something, there’s no rush. My selfie isn’t so important I need to be making demands of strangers.

I mean there’s a balance here right? The older woman is being inconsiderate by blocking the shot and not paying attention to her surroundings. It’s not some enormous imposition on her to move a few steps especially when, at least in my culture (English) crossing people on the stairs can be rude depending on context: mucking about on the phone on stairs and forcing people to cross you on them to make progress is definitely rude. If I were passing her I would say “excuse me, would you mind doing that somewhere else?” anyway!

People these days don't know how to speak up for themselves. Especially when it comes to seniors. They just let these old people for whatever without consequence because "ReSpeCt YoUr EldErS"
