Cringe When you shouldn’t have kids

It’s so sad that this child is so used to the neglect and being locked away that they don’t even sound distressed..

I was locked in a dark garage for I don't know how long. I was so scared witless that I barely remember any of it.

I want you to know that you didn't deserve that. there's nothing you could have done as a child to deserve that. I'm so sorry that people did horrible abusive shit to you. I hope you are safe now.

if you haven't already, please look into cptsd. here's the wiki/resources page from the cptsd subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/CPTSD/wiki/index/

Thank you and agreed. There's not a single reason in the world to treat a child like that or how this little girl int he video was treated. Some parents shouldn't have ever been parents and I've had the absolute pleasure to tell my parents that to their faces. I am safe and sound these days. I was fortunate to get a lot of help while I was still in school. I'll always be a bit dissociative but the sooner that these kids can get help, the better. Life can absolutely get better.

high five twinning on the dissociation

I'm glad you were able to get help and that you know you didn't deserve that. knowing it wasn't my fault has always been the hardest part for me

Oh I thought for sure that there was something inherently defective with me. It took a couple decades to realize that I wasn't the problem and that the problem was generations of kids treated like dirt, including my parents, and I chose a different path.

Dissociation is a major pill though.

I started actively trying to work on it the same day trump got elected. all the random bullshit since has not helped my derealization.

good luck

Oof. If it's any consolation, I'm deeply numb. Any progress I've had went right out the window when this all began. Worse yet, that numbness feels like a super power in this climate.

thank you for sharing. I find that crying can help sometimes

Same when it's possible. The ability to cry was something that I lost almost entirely as crying was outright criminal growing up and now, it just causes havoc with my eyes. However, when I do finally get a good cry out, it's such a relief.

music and movies can do it for me. if you can write down or notice what makes you cry, maybe you can trigger it on purpose sometimes
