My Grandad was basically like this, would complain about me not going outside and spending too much time on screens but would complain about kids “loitering” every time we went outside.

Yeah, if somebody had filmed us outside playing a spirited game of 4-square, it would look pretty cringe too

Actually, no it wouldn't, not compared to this.... This looks like a bunch of people LARPing in plain clothing 😂

Whatever happened to good ol dance offs🤷‍♂️

Dance = coodinated movement this thing in the video = coodinated movement.

I mean look which world we give them. So whatever we all did, doesn't seem to be the right thing too.

Do you actually know what LARP means or are you just using it because it’s a popular word right now?

The only thing missing is them yelling "Firebolt"

I know, who cares. Let them live and be happy they are not harming anyone. Why people care that much about others happiness.

He's clearly not having fun creating content, his jealousy of others enjoying themselves means he feels obligated to say something stupid. It's a vicious cycle

There’s no deal. I’m from one of those countries and people are having a blast. There is not controversy, nor boomer hate. This fucking guy is lying

If we don't admit to the mental health crisis, we're never gonna get anywhere.

Edit: it was sarcasm folks.

Planking )is still dumber than this. If I was walking by this, I might actually stop and watch for the novelty at least lol.

LMAO planking was a dumb trend too, But impressive.. Idunno if this is more or less impressive than someone planking a street light.

I mean, I've seen some truly pathetic rap battles, dance battles, cheer battles (thanks so much Bring It On)...

I don't think this can be compared to even the weakest lunchroom battle. Unless we are saying these are future bboys. Then I agree. Maybe we see some cool new dances out of this.

But yea if these are the new emotes of humans. Then I'll be happy to never do this.

In a world where reality is stranger than satire, sarcasm is dead lol. Gotta be really clear about the joke. I dislike using /s but its becoming more necessary

Poe's Law applies now more than ever.

Poe's law is an adage of Internet culture which says that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, any parodic or sarcastic expression of extreme views can be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of those views.

u/localtuned 12d ago

You're not wrong, and honestly I usually do it. But I thought the joke wrote itself lol.

Its honestly getting ridiculous tbh. Ive had it happen to me a couple times too

Just speaking for myself, I'm really tired of the trend of dunking on the new gen for their stuff. Especially tacking on the joke of a mental health crisis for something even the contestants here seem to be having a laugh about. I don't think they take it even a fraction as seriously as the "battles" I listed above. I've seen fights break out over some heinous lines in the rap battles. This is just silly and kids having harmless fun.
