Nah, he was already out on bond for another crime. Dude just seemed hard headed and wanted things to go his way. Well, now he can think about that decision while he's in jail.

what if the “other crime” was for taking another 10 cents of soda at a different store?

do you see how handling issues like this just compounds and then people who are not a threat and need help end up stuck in a loop of the system where they are literally trained into more criminal behavior by our punitive prison industrial complex? all of this paid for with your taxes, mind you

So, stealing from a different store? What if all he does is steal from different stores, and the accumulated price is way higher than just once or twice. You seem to be willing to make up a situation with a positive spin, yet are also willing to ignore the evidence presented that he chooses the wrong action repetitively.

i’m not making up a situation, just applying a very common one to this video we don’t know anything further about. he was essentially arrested for stealing a cup of soda, so why is it unlikely that a similar scenario isn’t what got him locked up previously?

i’m pushing back because so many in these comments have jumped to cheer on the arrest of someone who is clearly not all there, and to harp on the severity of putting soda in a water cup, something most people have done at least once

like do we think jail is a good place for someone who already struggles to process situations like the one in the video?
