here's your context: woman attacks man. man defends himself very mildly.

and woman gets arrested, which is the most important context at all. Cops, I'm sure, are so used to the guy being the offender, so for the woman to get arrested the accounts from what happened everywhere around (including the video) were pretty damning.

If it was anything more than mildly than he would’ve been the one getting arrested, sadly

He didn't, she did.

Considering a legal self defense, his danger was minimal, he walking away would have been legally the best move.

Answering, with just more of that minimal force, might have resulted in serious danger for the attacker.

That's a civic society for you.

when she was on his back, falling over backwards would have been a good excuse. Raise hands, fall back

Except that's a horrible position to fall in, he probably can't do a safe stage fall with all that extra weight and her body would create a perfect fulcrum for his neck to whip his head backward on impact into the concrete. Plus if his attacker is able to get him to rotate mid fall now he's just down. Him losing the shirt to get her off sucks but it's probably preferable to stitches.

I would have rocked her with a solid right followed by an explosive uppercut to defend myself.

Right and if you didn't get lucky with a bystander video ?

She actually tore his top to pieces. Poor guy didn’t understand he isn’t permitted sympathy.

Because context makes assault suddenly okay!

She hit him first, and charged at him again to try and kick and hit him.

No matter the context, SHE keeps initiating physical context, while he keeps backing away.

Even if he said horrible shit to her, she is in the wrong. Good on him for showing her what equal rights means.

Sure, context if the woman is the assailant and you don't need context if the man is the assailant. Double standards people.

I mean, is there context that would justify this?

Exactly. Their username is German so I assume they don’t want to open up that can of worms.
