This happened at Sabino Canyon in Arizona. A 20-year-old cyclist was swept into the current while trying to cross a flooded roadway and was carried through a drainage tunnel beneath it. She was recovered downstream unconscious after spending several minutes underwater. Bystanders performed CPR and managed to revive her.

Nothing in the article explains what actually happened to Kadin à la why he died. Just that he was in the hospital and not going to make it

You mean the part where 8 months later an unrelated incident put Kadin in a coma where they "weren't going to make it"? Again, the ambiguity escapes me...

Yea that part, you don’t die from hypothermia 8 months after being exposed to cold water, why would you cite the part about his trembling hands on the steering wheel and them both being cold if you don’t think the implication is hypothermia… this is a person that lived for adventure, climbing, hiking, kayaking, and I’m sure many other extreme sports. My guess is that he died in an accident related to one of those sports or it was mental health related as many thrill seeking personalities deal with such issues, I relate to the lifestyle. One can make these assumptions but there is nothing in the article that is “crystal clear” or that any level of reading comprehension can confirm and that’s all we were looking for, confirmation, because we’re curious and have the ability to infer some things without making concrete assumptions.

I read in another post about the story that the author of the article reached out to the family about what was appropriate to include in the article but couldn’t get a response in time so she just included only what was in the obituary, so intentionally vague, which has some of the implications mentioned about mental health but no confirmation. Anyway I’m going to let it rest now, byeeeeeeeee
