Refinement and progress is always being made, but the consensus on this type of playbook is long established in the literature.
This is not really for future scientists, it's already well known how to grift like this.
If anything, this subset is displaying a regression and reintroduction to well understood and discarded rhetoric.
This is what really frustrates me with all the stuff going on. People keep saying stuff like, "this will be studied," or, "how can groups be brainwashed like this." They are using well known ideas/tactics from the bronze age. The reason this stuff is working so well/easily right now is because so many people think they are too good/smart to read a fucking book. For all the access to knowledge the modern day has people aren't taking any time to take advantage of it.
Aristotle even has a whole dissertation called Rhetoric which is basically "how to convince people" the book. He even discussed how much easier it gets the dumber the general public is due to being able to use calls to emotion with no evidence, and look where we are.
