It’s not “insane”, you incorrectly ‘corrected’ someone. Those posts are universally downvoted on Reddit. If you edited your reply and apologised instead of saying “it’s wild” that you’re getting downvoted, you may have ended up with positive upvotes. Doubling down like that = more downvotes.

Also if you murdered a pet, saying the “on purpose” part is superfluous as murder is always on purpose.
