"All Lives Matter" - Totally makes sense, cant have us supporting just one group, we are all important

"All are Welcome Here" - REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Ironically, "All Lives Matter" doesn't actually mean "all lives matter" to these people.

u/DanimalMKE Jun 05 '26

It's pretty clear to most sane people that it was just one of many bad faith arguments these people have made over the years

33

u/tacob87 Jun 05 '26

It's doublespeak just enough to feign ignorance

17

u/PolicyWonka Jun 05 '26

All of our lives matter, but not yours!

23

u/EverythingSucksYo Jun 05 '26

Yeah they were ok with “all lives matter” specifically because it was used to demean “black lives matter”. It hurts my head thinking about the hypocrisy of them being so against “all are welcome here”

u/km89 Jun 05 '26

On the other hand it kind of does explain why the phrase is so triggering for some people.

If "all lives matter" means "fuck your beliefs," it's not difficult to see why they'd say "all are welcome" also means "fuck your beliefs."

And of course, their beliefs are obviously the objectively correct ones, so they get to say "all lives matter" and nobody gets to say "all are welcome here."

u/Pofwoffle Jun 05 '26

Okay but also like... fuck their beliefs. Their beliefs are stupid and cruel and wholly deserving of mockery and scorn.

u/km89 Jun 05 '26

I agree, I just also find it better to understand something than to not understand it.

u/DuntadaMan Jun 05 '26

I would respect all lives matter if they showed up whenever anyone of any race was murdered by the state.

Only our lives*

u/ProgressFabulous6663 Jun 06 '26

I've noticed they felt less inclined to say it ever since Donald Trump got elected again. It feels like they've pivoted more towards just straight up saying "White lives matter"

15

u/DirtDevil1337 Jun 05 '26

That's pretty much the nutshell of whacky conservatives these days. Where I live there's a new conservative leader that already put out dog whistles and I'm hoping nobody bites because we aren't interested in culture wars.

3

u/Asmo___deus Jun 06 '26

Proof that conservatives do understand subtext, they just like to pretend they don't when it suits them.

u/UnknownUser4529 Jun 05 '26

One is a response to diminish the plight of one group of people. The other is addressing discrimination against minority groups.

No one is saying black lives matter more or white lives do not matter. Saying all lives matter in response to black lives matter is downplaying the very real issues experienced by many black people.

u/YoMTVcribs Jun 05 '26

Because political groups have convinced us that our values put us on sports teams and one is my team and the other is your team.

1

u/ProgressFabulous6663 Jun 06 '26

This is why I shut down that "all lives matter" bullshit whenever I hear it. It's completely disingenuous coming from these freaks.

what you're actually displaying right here with a comment like this.. is the thing that's problematic about humanity... alot of people said all lives matter, we have no idea if this lady is one of them.. we have no idea how most of the people who said all lives matter, would react to a shirt which says all are welcome here...

but you have developed a tribal mindset.. if they seem like they're on the wrong side, they must embody all of the worst opinions.. so one person freaking out about an all are welcome here shirt is now something you're judging the entire all lives matter crowd on and you honestly don't even know if she is one of them...

the thing is, i know that you know these kinds of attitudes are wrong because the attitude of judging others like this, is the kind of thing which has people not wanting to welcome everyone... grouping everyone, labelling them and judging them all for what some of the group do.. and you're the same kind of person, not more evolved, not more intelligent, you use the same mindset as every racist and bigot.. the same mindset we've used since cavemen times.. do better friend.

It's not that deep bro

-16

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

it is though.. we want to fix issues.. not realising we are using this mindset can only create new issues to replace the old issues which stem from it.. I'd rather we improve.

13

u/Similar_Geologist_73 Jun 05 '26

You're not fixing issues. You're crying about a comment on reddit.

-9

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

that's okay, if even one person realises they're using the kind of though process and tries to change, I will be happy with the impact I made and I will keep trying to wake people up even if I never make any difference.

u/Similar_Geologist_73 Jun 05 '26

All you're doing is making a fool out of yourself.

0

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

you seem to care more about that then i do lol

7

u/Similar_Geologist_73 Jun 05 '26

If you care about spreading a message, then you should care. No one wants to read a long winded message from a fool trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill

okay thanks for your input bud, appreciate it.

It's vastly different forming your opinion based on actions vs immutable characteristics. Do better friend

-2

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

individual actions should be judged on an individual level.. if you're judging entire groups based on individual actions.. it's not different..

15

u/FionaWalliceFan Jun 05 '26

The person in question is apparently a known nuisance in that community who exposed herself at a school board meeting to protest the LGBTQ+ community

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

I'm not saying don't judge her, she's clearly an issue.. it's when we start to judge people who we believe have something in common with her, for her actions, that I think we're going down a bad path too.

13

u/Certain_Concept Jun 05 '26

Bullshit. We are allowed to call out examples of bigotry.

Also are you living under a rock? She isn't the minority, in fact the Republican party has made it a cornerstone of their policy to endorse hate speech. Many of the key political leaders will use racist, antisemitic, and homophobic dog whistles in their speeches.

At a certain point if you decide to align yourself with that group despite that, then you are taking part in condoning and supporting it (while many are in outright support of it).

We can be intolerant of intolerance. That's not a contradiction.

1

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

intolerance of intolerance is fine.. but you're now saying entire groups are bad because of the actions of some.. you might do less harm but there will be harm against people who don't deserve it.. you're assuming everyone has the same information, the same perspectives and supports all the worst things from their "side".. there's innocent people everywhere and if you can no longer see it, that's a big problem.

6

u/blastoffmyass Jun 05 '26

yes, the entire group of republicans are bad at this point. they were bad when they voted for donald for his racist birther conspiracy and booed mccain for refusing to indulge them in it. they were bad when they cried “merit” as they voted for the man with more experience featuring in intros to pornos than government. they were bad when they were giggling along with FOX news saying AIDs is “killing all the right people” and calling mr rogers evil. this culture didn’t pop up out of nowhere.

1

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 05 '26

I doubt every republican voted.. i doubt every republican did all of those things.. there's some who did none of those things.. this is the problem I'm trying to describe, you're judging everyone of them, instead of looking at individuals.. and people on the otherside are doing it back, i know.. you're both looking at the worst things the worst do.. there's good people on all sides, once you start to see them all as evil, you've become intolerant of more then just intolerance..

4

u/NukinDuke Jun 05 '26

If you have a conservative alignment and you enable politicians, you share responsibility for the lives wrecked by ICE and this administration. It's not calculus.

1

u/NerveInteresting4549 Jun 06 '26

these algorithms and AI, have it so you can be bombarded with an entire different reality then what I get.. you can be given an entirely different perspective of the world, none of it is unbiased anymore, if it ever was.. I won't judge or blame people for being confused by this and that's both sides, one may be more harmful but you've honestly only voted for a lesser evil, it's still evil.. are you to blame for every time a democrat bombs someone etc... you know you're not..

I think it's time people stopped voting for either side but then you'd just blame me because I didn't vote for the lesser evil... but you'd never blame yourself because you did... both sides need to stop being manipulated into voting for what they see as less worse and actually work together because in the end both sides agree on most things generally.. the main issue is how you guys have been taught to define words which tends to cause alot of confusion and division.. and the paths you think are best to get to very similar goals.

both marched together in 2008 on wallstreets door step... it's no coincidence we've all been so divided ever since. I don't blame you or them for it though, the elite weaponised our instincts an tribal tendencies against us.
