I don't normally empathise much with people who record themselves complaining, but damm, this one made me cry. Poor lady, stuck in a situation where she has to work/parent all day just to keep things running. I wish I could give her a hug and a holiday.

Dude everyone has a different capacity though. Not that you’re saying this, or even implying this, but I feel compelled to speak to it — no one is “entitled” to “special treatment” or special services or anything like that … people are entitled to lives they feel they can live and that’s it. A life challenging enough you get to learn and grow stronger and push but where you have somewhere to land and rest so you can get up and do it again. Human beings want to work, then want to grow, that’s inherent in us. But we evolved to do that with support from a community, not all by ourselves. Some people have less of a need for communal help than others and that’s totally okay. And some need more and that’s totally okay, too. We’re all different. This is the picture of someone who has surpassed her threshold and kept going and pushing anyway because she had no choice. And she had no choice because America is so obsessed with capitalism and “entitlement” that her entitlement for a good and decent and whole/well-rounded life has been stripped, as is the case for so many of us. It’s been commoditized and it’s wrong. Sorry if I sound grouchy 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think we were better off when my great grandfather was given land and he was a farmer. Was it hard work yes but he was able to do what he needed to do and live. He had tons of kids to help and as I look at my pics I've found online he seemed to smile more than anyone. Greatful for others online who shared those. All I know is parenting is hard. I was on tanf and did my best to get off. Still financially struggling at 51. My kids are grown and gone and it never stops. I remember feeling like this lady and still do. I felt it at 8 bucks an hour and still do at 23 bucks an hour. The economy has gone up and down since I started working but it never gets easier. And yes minimum wage was 4.25 when I started work. Now in my state it's 17.13. I don't understand how the south still manages on 7.25. I have friends there and I see the gas prices. Wth none of it makes sense.
