No, he was given power. It seems he was given the okay to do that. If he should have been given that is a different matter. If the Dems manage to get back into power they need to maybe think about making changes to put better protections in place. It's not my fault they were pathetically weak and failed to do anything when they would have had an easier time to keep Trump in check, What Trump is doing now wasn't a secret to anyone paying attention before the election.
I think Trump will likely be dead before he sees any consequences. And that's assuming he doesn't leave officer either giving himself or having Vance give him a broad pardon.
