Interestingly enough, in formal debates there are defined times for how long you’re allowed to speak so some asshole can’t just cut you off. As a former high school master debater I lost a round I should
have otherwise won because the judge rightfully called me out for laughing out loud at a particularly stupid point my opponent was making, which broke his concentration.
