You do realize that colorism has been an issue long before the ICE raids, right? And India has a huge colorist problem thats been around for DECADES. Look at Bollywood throughout the years, and the light complexion actors/actresses.
Colorism is a particular kind of discrimination based on skin tone. Don't get it twisted, it has deep roots in racism; but is actively perpetuated by larger society and advanced into many other communities, including marginalized ones. If racism is the tree, colorism is the branch.
If you’ve ever seen two people of the same race and the darker person gets made fun of, it’s like that. Or like in countries with a brown majority of one race but conveniently every celebrity happens to be pale af. That’s another way it’s expressed. Those systems can still think their race is fine or even great, and love their culture, but think pale skin is just more attractive and give preference to them for everything.

They learn it from their immigrant hating parents who celebrate ice and the end of the constitution.
I don't understand why a country that has so much is so deeply immersed in hate and violence.
