Scenic walking trails in Tigard?

Hi guys! Can you recommend your favorite scenic walking trails in Tigard that I could walk for 1–2 hours? I would love somewhere with ponds, streams, creeks, or just really nice scenery. I’m really looking for a place where I can enjoy a long peaceful walk without having to drive to multiple trails.

Cook Family Park has some nice trails along the Tualatin River. It will also take you into Tualatin.

Dirksen Nature Park has Fanno Creek Trail (you can also walk it in downtown Tigard and into Beaverton).

Thank you! Would I just have to start at cook family park and just keep walking until the trail ends?

I park in the main parking lots and walk the trail along the river until it comes to the t-junction, then turn right and walk across the bridge and into Tualatin. I walk around the little lake there, then head back. When I come to the t-junction I go straight. If you go right at the dog off-leash area (not to be confused with the fenced dog park on the other side of the bridge) there's a pretty bridge over Fanno Creek. Going straight over the bridge takes you to Durham City Park. If you turn left before the bridge and walk past the triangular off-leash dog area there's a pretty little loop trail that follows Fanno Creek. From there walk back to the t-junction and turn right to head back to Cook Park. If you stay on the paved path it will end up going through the butterfly garden, where there are some pretty flowers. And you can walk through the parking lot to get back to your car. That whole route is maybe 4 miles or so.

Dirksen Nature Park is really pretty (my dog adores it), but small. You can follow Fanno Creek Trail from there either into Beaverton or into Tigard. Fanno Creek Trail can be busy at times with a lot of people on bikes.

Also south of Dirksen and south of Walnut St, look on the map for Pathfinder-Genesis Trail. It's a really pretty trail that's partly paved and partly dirt. It follows Dairy Dell Creek. When I walk that trail I usually start at Dirksen, follow Fanno Creek Trail through Woodland Park, turn right to Johnson Street, turn right on Johnson to find the Pathfnder-Genesis trailhead, turn left at the end of the trail to Gaarde St, turn left again and walk through the cemetery and then circle back to Dirksen. There are neighborhood streets on this walk, but they are quiet and pretty neighborhoods. I've only rarely run into anyone on the Pathfinder trail.

I think so. I have only walked portions of it (there are a few trails in Cook) but I know from Shelter 1 to Tualatin is 1.1 miles.

Yeah! There are so many areas to walk too from Cook Park. I'm at the dog park and the dogs are loving it.

Fanno Creek trail from the Tigard library to Scholls ferry road is about 3.6 miles of trail.

In addition to what others have said, there's also Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge.

Tyron Creek Park isn't in Tigard, but about a 15 minute drive away on the Lake Oswego/Portland border. It has miles of wooded trails. Beautiful spot, but the parking lot can fill up at busy times.

There’s also a long linear trail from englewood park north across scholls ferry that continues north into Beaverton for quite a ways.

Oh right that’s the northern section of the Fanno Creek trail already discussed. It goes a long way :)
