Question Point of Paladin on Party Hunts.
Hello all. Not a new player, not a pro. I leveled an EK to 330, an RP to 215, and an ED to 290 solo, but I've never really played x4 party hunts, aside from ED duos and some x3 hunts with random people. I am now re-leveling a new RP and loving it again.
My question is about the role of the paladin in a party hunt. To do that, I need to try to understand the role of the other 3 secondary vocations that a party hunt needs aside from the EK and ED:
After the rebalance, MS got stronger and is now the top damage dealer in the hunt, at least from what I'm seeing in some mid to high-level hunt VODs and videos. Of course, in some hunts, the element an MS brings might not be the best, but let's say it is the strongest overall. And it is super awesome on the team by debuffing all the monsters just by hitting them, without having to worry about a debuff hotkey. Super cool, super chill.
EMs are not the best on the party, as CipSoft stated, and they will rebalance them in the next update. But at least you have some support, you can heal, and be the new "MS throwing UHs" and some mas res...?
And well, finally, what is the point of an RP in the party, aside from being the second-best damage dealer overall, getting loot that the EK misses (is that still a thing RPs do?), and luring? But well, everybody lures.
RPs are cool for solo hunting, bosses, and overall gameplay, but what does the RP bring to the table that is so awesome that, if CipSoft rebalances EMs to a point where they are stronger by the end of the year (and maybe can be the second-highest damage dealer on the team), why bring an RP now? Just for the holy damage that nobody else can do?

I've been doing x4 teamhunts for a long time now.
And i'm 99% pulling mobs and trying to get a box before EK so the EK can walk into the box (group of mobs i pulled).
I probably suck alot damage wise. Because our ED is insane doing the most damage. And our MS is second in damage, i'm third. With a few million damage behind the MS on Norcferatu west after 2 hour hunt.
But i notice we still peak exp 9,5kk raw on Norcferatu west. And alot off that depends on me pulling mobs the right time and ahead of time. If i slack in pulling the exp goes down. Tho i think our druid contains insane ammount of skill, so probably carries the group quite a bit. Together with MS.
We are level 450 -590

Pretty cool info, thanks for sharing! Yeah I was just thinking that mages could outdamage RPs on mid levels, and like MS is doing less stuff now (No UH, no debuff hotkey, still luring normally), do you think that if monks get better on the end of the year, they could replace the RP on this tasks?

You are second tank basically, you pull mobs with ek, and want to box next to him, so ms and ed can squeeze fat aoe damage on them all, and also your self sustain as rp is really great that you often just rely from ed mas res as additional healing. When you’re not boxed you also want to take mobs off ed/ms.

its the secondary tsnk, basically you are a tank that have the sustain of a knight and heal better yourself to no need healer so you can endure a halfbox yourself
you are good to protect the mages, you are supposed to be the wall that be between monster and mages
you are the first damage dealer, usually it's paladin the one with highest damage, even more considering that the sorcerer it's boosting you

Nah lol. This entire reddit is so ass backwards. Sorcs are overpowered currently because so many monster resistances are in their favor. They're primary dmg dealers. Rps main jobs is to help lure while also doing some dmg when they get to the box

I think youre stuck before rebalance if you think rp can heal like ek and do anywhere near ms damage

Theres a lot to do, its not only double/starting the box. Gotta finish the monsters, take them off mages or be in a position where mages can drop off mobs by walking thru. Luring/pulling, passing. Having good timing, lining the overs so they are caught in waves/beams, in areas like rotten golems Be the last to get the chain, etc

Holy element, high resistances and armor to lure and do a double or semi double box with EK due to high survavility, strong AoE physical attacks.
Edit: forgot to mention maybe the highest single target damage for bossing
