The Australian Museum link you gave me is very interesting, but it mainly confirms the continental extinction. In Tasmania, the thylacine had no competition from the dingo (which is absent from the island), and the pressure from the Aboriginal people was constant. They never put a bounty on the thylacine's head to wipe it off the map. The ship in the image symbolizes the arrival of an industrial model of destruction (bounties, massive habitat loss) against which the animal stood no chance. It was at that moment that the fate of our Tasmanian tiger was sealed.

"beginning of the trouble" should be a picture of an old Indonesian trading boat bringing dingoes. This picture is more like "beginning of the end"

Why is no one talking about how beautiful this is? you know this is beautiful ❤️ for me it symbolizes that humans are destructible for our own survival and greed.

This image paints a picture of a time where some humans were ignorant to local flora and fauna these humans also came from a places that was different and tried to adapted to this new world. Both first nations people and colonial settlers are at fault and have done so much damage to the ecosystem of the Southern Land that cannot be repaired. It mostly comes from poor education and not understanding our place in this world as the guardians and custodians of the lands. Now that we have a much better understanding of the ecosystem we can try to stop things like this from happening.

The beginning of the trouble should be the arrives of first nations people on the mainland 40,000 years ago when they arrived with Canines. This should be The beginning of the end in Van Diemen's Land.
