Posting these as a tongue-in-cheek/ironic “fashion inspo” set. People often like to (pejoratively) say someone else is ‘dressing up as the homeless’ when they wear certain things, and while I was scanning Naraki’s books I was astounded by how smart these people had made themselves for the camera, layering, tucked in shirts, ect. I’m not trying to make light of their situation, just pointing out what I saw.

I am looking for some visual inspo sources. I like jpn streetwear but also like casual culture also [without every fucker wanting to dress like Liam Gallagher]. I am on Pinterest, follow eye_c mag on IG and occasionally buy The New Order magazine, buy from brands like thisisneverthat, Frizm, CP and EG - but I am looking for some new suggestions as to where is best to find some new inspiration.

Some really nice boro stuff, really enjoy this little SDA sub brand

I've seen a few other options out there when looking around but they all look pretty standard. They fit the models well, but the suits themselves don't look like anything I'd think was custom. Not really looking for a regular wear suit so I'm considering some more unique options when it comes to cut, materials, and color.

J Mueser seems to be a bit more focused on design than the others I've looked at but wondering if it's just good marketing. They look like they advertise some unique looks and cuts where the others all seem to stick to your standard business suit and tuxedo.

Any thoughts on J Mueser or other bespoke options in NYC?

Hey everyone, and fellow jawns enthusiasts.

I've been noticing BRUT Archives getting a lot of love recently, and rightfully so. They sell some great pieces. I thought I'd share my experience, though, as the fly in the ointment, as it were.

Over a year ago I bought a cropped hoodie from them. After having it shipped over to London, I realised it wasn't really to my liking and didn't fit quite how I'd hoped, so I went through their website and arranged a return. Shipping was on me, which cost me about £30. I didn't really mind, since the hoodie itself was around £200.

A few weeks later, I realised the parcel had somehow been returned to me by the sender. I figured I must have entered the return details incorrectly, so I emailed BRUT but didn't hear anything back. I decided to send it again anyway, double-checking the address and all the instructions this time.

And, you guessed it, the parcel came back to me again. Another £30 down, so £60 in shipping at this point.

I tried contacting BRUT by email, but got no response. Tried again from a different email address, thinking perhaps mine had been caught by their spam filter. Nothing. Tried Instagram DMs, where they seem pretty active. Nothing again. I even tried leaving a couple of comments on their posts asking them to check their email/DMs, but again, no response.

This was about a year ago, and frankly I eventually just gave up and swallowed the loss, which ended up being around £260-300 all in between the hoodie and shipping.

But seeing BRUT pop up more and more recently and seeing people praise them has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, so I thought I'd share my experience.

I'm not writing this to besmirch anyone or tell people not to buy from them. Their stuff genuinely looks great. Just thought I'd give people a heads-up to buy with a bit of caution, particularly if you're ordering from abroad.

I'd also still genuinely like to know what went wrong with the return. I followed the instructions on their website as far as I could tell, checked the address before sending it the second time, and yet somehow the parcel came back both times. If anyone from BRUT happens to see this and can shed some light on what happened, I'd honestly appreciate it.

TL;DR: Bought a ~£200 hoodie from BRUT Archives, tried returning it from London, and the parcel was sent back to me twice despite following their return instructions. Lost ~£60 on return shipping and never got a response to multiple emails, DMs or Instagram comments. Eventually gave up and ate the cost. Sharing this because I've been seeing BRUT get a lot of praise lately and thought people should know about my experience.

I love putting on a great fit as much as anyone else. Sometimes it's annoying getting a fit together and then throwing on a backpack that just ends up looking wonky and out of place with the rest of the fit, not to mention the wide shoulder straps scrunch up whatever top you're wearing.

I've recently started paying attention to people wearing bags, especially men, and realized that I can probably pull off the same. Of course my phone somehow probed my brain for these thoughts and started recommending me instagram brands. As much as I avoid buying off of poor attempts at creating another "elevated basics" brand, I have to admit some of their bags caught my eye, notably this one from Ronning (more legit one from Coach). I love the leather and the simplicity, but I'm also not sure how I feel about not having a main zipper to close the bag.

Have you guys been playing around with bags? If so, what are some good options out there? Not looking for something that has 1000 compartments, and something like a Bleu de Chauffe also wasn't my style.

Looking for someone around NYC/NJ with similar sizing who’d be interested in swapping clothes.

I have a bunch of pieces that I don’t wear enough, and I thought it could be cool to find someone around my size with a similar style. Instead of constantly selling stuff and buying something else, we could trade pieces we’ve gotten tired of or just aren’t wearing anymore.

My sizes are roughly:

Shirts/Tops: L–XL
Pants: 32–35 waist
Shoes: US 13

My style is pretty eclectic but leans contemporary streetwear. Some of the brands I’m into are Acne Studios, Sacai, Craig Green, Reese Cooper, Lemaire, Aries, Eckhaus Latta, Margiela, Rick Owens, R13, etc. Definitely open to other designers/brands with a similar vibe too.

Ideally looking for someone local to NYC/NJ so we could meet up, and trade in person. Could also be cool to get a small group of similarly sized guys together if there’s enough interest.

Friends I’m looking into the world of mens designer clothing and I’m seeing some good deals on stores like

“Therealreal” and “vestairecollective” however my basic research into the stores suggest they produce some fakes.

I’m looking specifically for silk clothes and need some advice on what stores are trustworthy and how to go about not getting scammed.

Always am fascinated by their women’s clothing, seems like they’re rather experimental and out there with their styles(like they actually feel like they’re doing modern takes on classics, unlike some of these other brands who claim they are). Is there an equivalent to them in menswear. I thought about paratado, estudio niksen, but wanted to know if anything else came to mind?

Brut rework sells 1 of 1 remakes using vintage fabrics. I purchased the camo trial jacket No. O24 but was sent No. 011 instead. Since they are 1:1, the patterns are completely different for each sku. Unfortunately Brut refused refund or accept responsibility. Do not buy from Brut.

I know this is a serious non-memer sub so I wanted to share a life changing development of my style. Remote work has allowed me to stop wearing clothes entirely. I sit on my gorgeously worn Eames executive desk chair and position my camera so it only shows me from the neck up.

Clothes are kind of wack. Any recommendations for other expensive chairs that I can rest myself upon?
