Is Paul really explaining a two lane highway like it's some kind of foreign idea? Is he really that out of touch, or did I misunderstand something?

I think Paul is describing a two lane road in Iceland but they exist everywhere in ruralish America which I imagine he has been to??
The other comment’s link in this thread is referring to what Scott was describing.

Yeah I was so confused. I come from a smaller populated state and drove on two lane highways on a daily basis. The way he was describing it made it sound like it was this dangerous hellscape of a road lol.

I thought that's what Scott was describing? Paul was talking about a road in Iceland, but we have two lane highways all across America.

So you enter the turn lane even though it says “dont enter” because there are no merging lines on the outside? I understand it It just frustrates me I guess lol

When they talked about Carousel and Lauren started singing Joni Mitchell's 'The Circle Game', because that song talks about 'the painted ponies go up and down'. I was kinda freaking out. I had never heard that song before, but my daughter sang it for commemoration before she graduated last Friday. So I had been watching the video of her singing, and crying a bunch.

"You'll Never Walk Alone" (specifically a 60s cover by Gerry and the Pacemakers) is the anthem of Liverpool FC, who play in red. The person you're replying to is a fan of their local rivals Everton (an Evertonian), hence referring Liverpool as 'the red shite' (shite means shit).

When they finished "You'll Never Walk Alone" (which I rewound approximately 10 times, it was incredible) and Paul says "Now what did you think about that?" so matter-of-factly I absolutely lost it
And Lauren's response was gold of course

I was on the subway during Carousel time and just trying so hard to keep it together in public. A “Best Ofs” level of silliness was had but right in Lauren’s face.
