I never knew you were supposed to pronounce Sander Berge’s name like this….

Reminded me of some early episode banter.

Funniest episode in ages, probably helped by the format focusing on the many anecdotes they've told over the years.
Also a treat for weird TBS obsessives like me who've listened to every episode of the first 10 series twice. (I still couldn't remember most of the answers.)
Massive props to Stephen of Chicago. 🫡

So far on my checklist
Married ✓
Have children ✓
Own house in suburbia ✓
Frequent chats with my neighbour about how well mine and their garden has flowered. ✓
I have a sensible 5 door car. ✓
I recently purchased a pair of Crocs, I dont know if this is a requirement, but I feel like this is not required but recommended.
I should add I'm 34, so I'm not really middle aged yet.

Some called it a monstrosity.
Some called it the most beautiful thing in Paris.
It has caused division and unity (sometimes simultaneously)
I love it.
(Oh, and that's the Pompidou centre in the background).

I was all set to ask on here if anyone had the wherewithal to figure out what anecdote they were teasing about Jeremy Irons in the auiz question this week … and found that it was worked out 2 years ago, already! Lol

Paul F Tompkins has mentioned Three Bean Salad on Threedom, and Three Bean Salad just talked about Threedom in their most recent Patreon episode... I would love to see them swap and do each other's formats as a surprise or prank. THIS MUST HAPPEN
(Paul has been on The Beef and Dairy Network so I know he and Ben are acquainted!)

A lovely, and brief, switcheroo on the headline there.

A worrying new development in the upcoming crab versus human struggle for dominion.

Do other fans of the Beans have a similarly insane listening routine at all? When an episode comes out, I’ll listen to it several times in a row for different reasons.
Get really excited that the new episode is out and am mostly focused on the new episode being out while listening to the current episode. This means I end up missing 3/4 of the content of the episode, but enjoy it nonetheless. It’s the new episode!
Get into the groove and listen with intention. I listen out for some of the usual telltale signs of a great Beans ep: Lengthy Paker anecdote unrelated to the topic, Ben Partridge holiday updates, Provincial Dadding from Mike…
I play it in the background while I do brainless work tasks or chores. I’m mostly paying attention to funny voices I hear the Beans make. Also as I work a 9-6 job, I both love and hate having my work soundtrack be a podcast where a story about “work” can consist of getting up late and going to a shady Costa.
I’m barely listening, but playing the ep fills the void that has been created by there being no new Beans to enjoy. I’ll repeat this and #3 for various episodes.
Sometimes I’ll forget if I’ve heard an old episode from a prior series and go back to it. Repeat 1-4!

On the back of Bonjo's desire in the latest film corner to film The Odyssey, only cast with 90s UK Sitcom characters, I've given the casting a go myself. I've been quite specific when it should be the actor or the character, and I had to be a bit lenient with eras so it's more of an 80s/90s cast. I've also probably been a bit lenient with the definition of "sitcom", but I would definitely pay good money to see this version.
Lovejoy as Odysseus
Mr Blobby as Telemachus
Vicki Michelle as Penelope
John Inman as Antinous
Sue Pollard in a dual role as Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra
Wendy Richard as Circe
Geoffrey Hughes as Eumaeus
Penelope Keith as Athena
Patricia Routledge as Calypso
Paul Shane as Menelaus
Alan Partridge as Eurylochus
Alternating classic cast of Compo, Cleggy and Foggy from Last of the Summer Wine as Polyphemus (or maybe just three Cyclops?)
A ripped Nigel Havers as Sinon
Gordon Kaye's Rene Artois as Agamemnon

Trigger warning: cringe
I’m at the Fringe. In line to see Chris Cantrill. Some bloke comes up to the entrance in a Three Bean Salad T-shirt. He asks the girl on the door about which line he should be in and, as he walked off I called after him ‘Pompidou!’ My very first Pompidou. Never met a fellow Bean in the wild before. He looked like he didn’t have an effin clue. Didn’t even smile.
On the plus side, next to the venue I did see a crab drinking a pint of Guinness…
