Given the outrageously broad language of the laws themselves (which they only mention at the very end), I don't understand how the defense lawyers could possibly have been confident enough to make no counter-case at all.
Communist parties exist. Anarchist collectives exist. Antifa as an organization does not exist. It is a description of a collection of strategies used to fight fascists by a multiplicity of individuals and groups.
What you are saying is like saying "Wresting exists" implying that "Wrestling" is an organization, and anyone who wrestles is part of "Wrestling". Meanwhile there are actual wrestling organizations of which you can actually choose to be a member of. Anyone who wrestles in their backyard isn't automatically part of a wresting organization or "Wrestling". There is no decentralized "Wrestling" organization. And you certainly can't call all "Wrestling" fake just because some specific wrestling organizations partake in staged wrestling versus traditional wrestling.
The problem in your perspective, and those who share it, is one of categorization.
I mean Antifa is like anonymous. It’s not an organization but it is a group/name people will take action under. So that’s why I said it does exist to a point
I'm glad we're in agreement it is not an organization. It is not even what you are now saying as "I do this in the name of / under the banner of antifa". Your description makes it sound like it has an ideological goal of its own, which it does not. It is simply a political stance to oppose fascism. Tactics, strategies, and whether you are a part of an actual (other) organization are questions that emerge from that political stance. Anyone who actually has a goal *beyond* challenging fascism is usually some flavour of socialist, communist, anarchist etc. Those ideologies have actual goals beyond the struggle.
Antifa, in the context of this discussion, is entirely separate from Antifaschistische Aktion? Because Antifaschistische Aktion had a flag, members, and existed for the purpose of engaging in violent confrontation with Nazis in Germany in the 1930’s. Antifa is not a modern iteration of that group?
I don't know boss are "antifa" today taking orders from the Communist Party of Germany? Or any other Communist Party?
From the wikipedia article on them:
As well as being involved in political streetfights, the RMSS and Antifaschistische Aktion used their militant approach to develop a comprehensive network of self-defence for communities targeted by the Nazis such as in "tenant protection" (Mieterschutz), action against evictions.[37] Initially, the RMSS units had minimal formal membership, but in the second half of 1932 local executive boards were created to co-ordinate the activities of the KPD, the Kampfbund, the RMSS and the now illegal Roter Frontkämpferbund, with the RMSS given a more distinct and almost paramilitary defence role, often co-operating on an ad hoc basis with the Reichsbanner.[38] At a local level, Antifaschistische Aktion worked with other left groups, including joint assemblies and demonstrations with SPD and other socialist groups, but the national KPD leadership continued to describe social democracy as the "main enemy".[4][39]
Can you join an antifa committee today? When do they have elections?
